MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Last night my torrents were crawling at 20kbs, reset router, no Internet connection. Get MWEB technical to do port reset, reboot router and PC, restart torrent, 635kbs for the exact same file. (4MBps line)

You mentioned this is affecting your international latency, is local latency fine?

Sorry, at work now, but I did do a local speedtest last night as well, and the latency was 25ms. Usually it is 15ms, but that isn't really an issue.
I'll check again when I get home later today, if things are still as bad as they were last night.
 
Line Finally Back Up Last Night, but Speeds are Terrible just even on browsing.
Haven't even bothered with Youtube etc.
Besides the SMS no further update received from Telkom or Mweb.
Line + Data is on All Inclusive with MWEB.
Will monitor my ADSL, Anyway Tx. for at least getting me back online.

Now not only do I have erratic speeds, which after more than 2 months still remains unresolved, now I have the connection dropping a few times during the day. if this is a Telkom issue, can Mweb find out what is happening, as I pay you for the line. I have a lot of game downloads next week, and cannot wait for days to download everything.

Hi MWG,

Things seem slightly better but something is still definitely not right. Http and streaming are extremely sluggish, and getting ping timeouts to international sites and higher latency to local sites. Pretty much the same issues as people posting above. I will keep monitoring in the meantime.

From what I can see your line fault is still open on our side.
I will ask our team to follow up Telkom and contact you with an update.

If the drop connection persist, please inform the specialist who will be contacting you this evening and we'll log it with Telkom if needed.

It came right the morning, also that bad ping to the MWEB sip server has come right

The issues I have with the call backs, is the person that phones me admits that there is a problem, but there are never any solutions. I have done various tests, tried the test account, and its always the same issues with the mweb accounts. I need this issue resolved, as its been agreed that there is an issue. Calling me every few days with no answers is only wasting my time. I would have thought that after 2 months something would have been done, but it seems like I am no better off than what I was 2 months ago.
 
Yet again, latency & packet loss through the roof, only affecting my Mweb DSL lines???

Please provide me with the tracert & ping tests done and I'll do further checks on my side. Also include the tests of the other ISP accounts you've done.

Ok, so I've changed my isp from Afrihost to Mweb in middle March, waited 2 and a half weeks for my username and password, got it around April 9th (1 mb uncapped). First week of internet was okay, downloads not too bad, online gaming with minimal lag. After that my internet started disconnecting, downloads went down, absolutely no chance of online gaming (last year I gamed with ease on a 384 kbps line). Its a mission to call technical support, I wait for 5 min on my cellphone and no one answers, did that now for 3 weeks straight. I'm pretty much fed up for the service and my internet is totally screwed up at the moment, it disconnects around 4 to 5 times in a hour. Not sure what to do now....

Dude, aren't you the guy with massive exchange congestion? Do you get the same result on all isp's or just mweb?
 
Only on mweb.

Congestion is nothing to do with this.

Line is fine with downloads, stopped it tried to play a game. 9999999999999 ping. ping test got the above.

So the congestion excuse is utter crap as a friend 2 houses down is perfectly fine!
 
That ping looks like something is downloading while the speedtest is being done. Can you post the same speedtest with your other providers to compare.
