MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Hey MyBB.

Also want to bring my complaint here. Been on 4mb premium for about a year now and have absolutely loved my account and dealings with MWEB, until now. Since the Seacom rubbish a while ago, MWEB has not been the same. Very erratic speeds.

Sometimes I get full http speed and P2P, mostly not. Other night was streaming video and had no issue all night (HTTP access) and then one night using same HTTP access to stream would buffer for 8mins and give me 10 seconds of video. Let's not even get into P2P - We all know MWEB have changed their rules here. Now, not saying MWEB have ever prioritised P2P...

They have always said it has lowest priority (which I'm fine with), but recently action HAS been taken to slow and curb P2P. This tells me their network is taking quite some strain overall and they NEED to do this. *Even though that isn't really helping their issues...

I again push, my opinion, that MWEB is facing capacity issues over their network. This really annoys me as I am a paying customer as are all of you. If MWEB can take on the clients, they must be able to support that growth. Scale costs, I know this, but MWEB aren't struggling in terms of finances now are they?

Regards,

Scrumpy

Hi ScrumpyJ4ck

Please provide me with your MWEB account details and I'll check your line readings. Also include a speed test and tracert from www.google.com

Absolutely. I'm currently having trouble streaming a 5 minute, 240p youtube video.

Hi Gerhardva

The results posted is fine. Not all sites allows for 1 to ping pass a certain point or it does not allow 1 to ping it at all, which means there is not necessarily something wrong. This is also a financial site.

I could not ping it at all but could access the site with no problem. Ping results does not mean anything in this case really.

Which account is this for?

And its all the same issue , long time happy customers , who are now unhappy customers. There is definitely an underlying issue MWEB !

Just jumped ship, moved over to Afrihost because Mweb is unbearable!

Yes I still have 10 Days left with Mweb which I paid for, but luckily Afrihost pro-rata....

I tell Mweb's network is shocking, for the past few months it has been nothing but trouble.

Hi PurSpyk!!

We are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of your line issue. We will remain in contact with you until it is resolved.

4Mbps uncapped

My 4M uncapped premium has been really bad since Friday. Not even the MyBB speed test works at times. Local is great, but international sucks.

Also getting tired of the "no problem on our side" remarks. If there is smoke, there is fire. I am happy to stay with MWEB but be honest with us.

Hi zs6cey

I had a look into your account and can't find any issues with it. Your DL usage is great.

Please provide me with a speed test result: http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/MWEBSpeedTest.aspx

Do you let downloads run in the background, when trying to browse international sites or what international services is not working for you?

I think I see what the problem is.

2MB premium uncapped here. I feel your pain. Since Seacom **** my line has been a joke. Very erratic and unpredictable speeds. One evening I can stream 720p video. Then the next evening im buffering 240p video on YouTube, twitch, own3d etc.

I'm really looking to move ISPs now. Afrihost Business uncapped is looking good.

Mweb used to be great. But now they're the most expensive, and the slowest.
Am going to send my cancellation request tomorrow and move to Afrihost.
