looks like telkom exchange thats overloaded aswell but who cares.......... they just dont bother.........

I notice that MWEB now has only 1, 4 and 10Mbps options listed on their website. What will happen on the 1st of August(/next billing cycle) if you currently have the 1Mbps option? When are you planning to release pricing for 2Mbps?

Also, what will happen in terms of connection speed on 1 August?

They not sure but they are releasing the 2 Mbps price/speed soon

We continuously relook at our product offerings and as soon as any changes are made to our pricing we will notify you.

Existing 1mb Uncapped customers who are eligible to have their line speed increased to 2mb, which will provide a performance improvement, will stay on their current product and pricing. These customers will have the option to either upgrade to a 2mb uncapped all-inclusive package – pricing to be announced very soon, or to downgrade back to a 1mb uncapped package + 1mb line at the new price of R339-00.

I believe this is a Gtalk related problem. A few of my colleagues and I are experiencing similar trouble.

I've been having trouble the two hours myself, only now thought it might be the connection instead of my IM client.

EDIT: Ah, I see MWeb Guy replied while I was typing. In that case I will just have to wait for the issue to be resolved.
 
all our office gtalk have the same problem, definitely something wrong about google or mweb

We have tested gtalk with an adsl connection and a cellular connection and we are experiencing the same thing. I can confirm that this outage has nothing to do with MWEB.

but,will telkom also upgrade my line speed automaticly or must i phone them?

and if i have a data only 1mbps will you (mweb) also upgrade it to 2mbps data only automaticly

Hi sybertiger

They will be automatically be upgraded, there will be no need to contact them, unless you see that the line is still syncing at 384kbps or 1mb.

If you want to upgrade from the 1mb to the 2mb package, you will need to contact us in order to do so.

as soon as i see i sync at 2mbps i will phone u guys to upgrade my data to 2mbps :)
 
is there a place to see where this Metro upgrading is taking place?

line has been spiking lately like crazy. can't even game cause one moment ping is low, next it is in the 500+.

also, Mweb Guy, if I wanted my line to get lowered to 4meg, do I call Mweb or Telkom? since line is also through Mweb.

it is synching at 6meg but I am wondering if that isn't a problem, though it was fine for few months then just started going bad.
