Speed tests are impossible. My browser won't even load them, and on my phone I get speeds less than 100kbps before a connection error appears. Router has been reset many times today.

Edit: Fired up my capped Afrihost account and suddenly the internet works. Hardly as well as it should, but at least it's something.

Is MWEB's JHB IPC FUBAR? I initially thought it was my exchange, but the issue seems to be at the IPC according to my Trace Route.

Also according the m3h's speedtest results he is close to Midrand which feeds off the JHB IPC.

My deduction: MWEB's JHB IPC has tanked.

Seems its not just JHB according to the posting.

Hi All, we can confirm that our JHB ADSL network is running at reduced capacity due to a link failure, so things might be a bit slow at the moment.
Our engineers are working hard on getting it fixed.

Hi sybertiger

Please be advised that it is a 1 calendar month notice period.

Hi Bryn26

Please PM me your MWEB account details if you are still encountering speed issues.

Same problem here this last week. My 4MB Uncapped has been dog slow. Most speedtests run at 1.07Mbps down and 0.30Mbps up with a ping of 80... to a local server. SAIX Speed test yields no better nor does the MWEB speedtest.

I phoned MWEB's call center today and the lady on the phone said there seemed to be no issues on the account, and because its the premium uncapped with MWEB handling the ADSL line, there was no throttling in place...

The speedtests are horrible, my gaming ping starts awesome and just degrades slowly, local and international wise, which is just unacceptable. They tried a port reset but that didnt help much. When I got home the speedtests improved to 2.5Mbps but have now degraded below 1Mbps again. I have tried 3 different modems, flushed everything, reconfigured the modem from scratch, tried new phone cables, other PC's and nada. Trace Routes also time out after a while or the latency is impossible.

Had nothing but great service from MWEB but now it seems a number of people are having issues. Im not sure if this is a Telkom issue or an MWEB issue but it is frustrating. Literally 1 week ago I was getting 450k solid and latency was 100%... now its like being on dial-up...

Logged into WoW... started with a ping of 165 which is my norm... and I have watched it slowly climb to 450 now... and there is NOTHING else on the network, nothing downloading, and a friend next door on the same exchange with Afrihost sitting with his ping stable at 200....

Why MWEB why...
