MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

In an effort to get some idea of what we are paying for per gig, please see below.

Uhm, either you don't understand the problem or you are willfully obfuscating ...

1. I upgraded from a 384K package (no line rental) AFTER Telkom upgraded my line to 2MB (the fact that they did it without increasing my line rental is none of MWeb's concern).
2. I signed up for your uncapped 2MB line + data package at R488 per month, which now appears to be a 1024K line + data package.

Apparently I was sent an e-mail to downgrade the line to 1024K or upgrade to a higher cost package. Am I correct thus far?

Thus the package that I was originally sold was altered significantly, yet lo and behold, I see the same advert on your website for what I believe to be the same package that was originally advertised which I signed up for!

How does this then align with the product you sold me and how does it differ from your current advert?

For your convenience I'll link to it here

Your feedback would be appreciated, since your advertising appears to be misleading - using the reasonable person argument.

Could you please drop me a PM with your MWEB account info so that I may check this out for you.
I think I may be misunderstanding you and would like to make sure that I provide you with the correct info.

Thanks

I note that someone calling him or her self, the Mweb Guy is on these forums.....

May I suggest the following -He/she send a link to these forums, as well as Hellopeter, as well the MWEB FB page
to the MWEB marketing head, strategic planner, CEO. This mail will hopefully have more effect than the damage control
being spewed out by the MWEB guy/girl.

The constant attempts to justify or negate the poor decision made my MWEB is now past entertaining and moving into the realms of sheer stupidity. Alternately, come clean and explain why the sudden AUP and mystery parameter discussion?

What thoughts??

@ MWEB Guy, account has normalized tonight, just to inform. Thanks

So this is what MWEB say to me ..."Your usage thus far for this month is already over 100gig and last month you managed 305Gig."

Firstly, it is not a race. I don't ago out to see if I can "manage" to reach a target. I use the account as I need to as I pay for it. Secondly, as an UNCAPPED account paid MONTHLY am I now being monitored WEEKLY.

This comment is almost as stupid as the one where you ask me if I can stay within my parameter, that you admit you cant give me.

There is mentally something SERIOUSLY wrong with either MWEBS employees who write this junk, or with the ethics of the management to allow this rubbish to destroy the business..... REALLY???

it is ridiculous how you now come and want to start throttling people for over usage after months, yet never could have given a fixed, or at least, a round about figure by which should try to adhere to.

if we had guestimates from the start, it would have been much easier to maintain our usage, rather than now get throttled for what little we may actually WANT/NEED to do.

oh well, will just see how things go from September :(

I've never been throttled over the 3 years with MWeb, so I guess I'm always in acceptable usage. The minute I get throttled I'm picking up the phone and cancelling MWeb. I haven't got time for discussions. My internet must work for me, not in reverse.

Same here. Apparently from 1 September the **** is going to hit the fan on premium accounts. My mouse pointer is on Openweb, I'm just waiting for that final push.

Yes but how will you know you are throttled? The internet will be slow, you'll be thinking to yourself, is this the throttle? is this seacom? is this telkom? Let me check my mweb email, let me count my toes and bits, let me check how much I downloaded, let me pray... I for one, am NOT interested in throwing in ANOTHER variable into the mix. I've closed my mweb account because I just want my internet to work, all the time, without calculations and guess work.

Exactly what I'm thinking. The calculations and guess work, without any clear acceptable usage is just a time waster. Its certainly looking like uncapped is not as value for money as it seemed to be.

@MWEB - How can I check whether I am close to the 'to be' throttled zone?

Dear Mweb,

I am reliant on my Internet access for many things and it would be totally unacceptable to suddenly, without warning, find myself to be throttled to the point of unusability, so I need to have a way of monitoring and managing my likelihood of being throttled and, in the event that I am throttled, to be able to determine how long this status is going to apply and what my alternatives are to avoid and/or rectify the situation.

Playing Russian Roulette with a paid for service is totally unacceptable.

I need to be able to properly manage things, not rely on some nebulous arbitrary level against which I cannot measure.

You only got a 3% chance to get shot, not that bad aye?

:p

I am one of the 3 percent. where is this kind of luck when you play the lotto!!!
I cancelled on Monday and try to follow up yesterday, the clients department told me they have 48 to 72 hours to get back to me. silly me thinking it is normal hours. No No this is working hours they tell me. translate to 6 to nine days!!!!
Well I plan to abuse this network till it falls over. ( or at least try)

MWEB why so slow ?
