MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

What is FON? What selection criteria do you use to make this offer to customers?

Morning Gerhardva

You can read all about the service on our website.

FON is basically a wireless service that we are offering our customers, that becomes a hotspot for our FON subscribers. It is available internationally as well.

Mweb guy , when i do get my fon router and activate it etc, and my alwayson usage switch from 300mb to uncapped , can i have more then 1 device use that mweb account at a alwayson hotspot?

Afternoon hereticangel, I am waiting on some feedback regarding the multiple device connection at a alwayson hotspot.

I will provide you feedback as soon as I receive a response.

VDSL is available in my area and I'm thinking of upgrading soon, looking for feedback from anyone currently on the service. How are the VDSL routers and are there better alternative's available? I can't seem to find that many in SA.

Morning TEXTILE GUY

I do understand your concern.

Sign up and you will get the FON router and extender :D

As for "shared bandwidth", that won't affect you. Your usage is totally independent from the FON hotspot usage. So, if a FON subscriber uses the connection, what they use won't add to you usage at all.

:D:D Oooooo tempting tempting ... PLEASE PLEASE ask your boss to do away with the soft cap, please .... need that FON service when travelling in the EU.

We might come back once it is uncapped again not FakeCapped ;)

On the FON router, just as an observation I filled in the form and got confirmation that it was sent on the website but no email or way of knowing it is in progress or even received. Perhaps something to look into.

You might want to revise this page a little.

Also, the T&C's are a bit scary to say the least.

26. If MWEB subsidises the cost of the Fon enabled Router in whole or in part, and you do not use the Fon enabled Router for the MWEB Fon Service, then MWEB reserves the right to collect the Fon enabled Router from you or to recover the cost of the subsidised portion from you.

Does this mean that if I cannot get to a Fon hotspot (but rather prefer / only have access to AlwaysON) my device will be billed to my account ?

I think it is refering to altering or not using the router, so if you get the router and hence the Fon access to wifi elsewhere and then don't plug in the Fon router at home and so on, that's how I understand the clause anyway...

I understand it as altering the Fon router or not using it at home, in other words you use the Wifi Access elsewhere but you do not actually plug it in at home.. That is what I understand from it anyway...

Scary thing,, how will they know if i've plugged it in at home.
That's invasion of privacy (somewhat?)

It will not be debited off your account, what it means is.

If you cancel your Fon subscription then we reserve the right to have a courier come and fetch the device.

First, thanks for the great modem and super fast delivery, second, I can't for the life of me get the extender to connect, it looks like the WPS button on the modem has been turned off through telnet?

Hi Soul Assassin

I want you to press the wps button on the extender and keep it in for a few seconds then after that press and hold the wps button on the router and let me know if it pairs then
