MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Derek Hershaw, CEO of one of SA's largest ISPs, MWeb ISP, says the company has made a few changes aimed at delivering more value to its customers, as well as an improved online experience.

"We have adjusted pricing, and allocated additional data at the same price on selected capped products. On our uncapped product range, we have been adjusting the usage thresholds in terms of our acceptable use policy, allowing more capacity for uncapped customers and ultimately an improved experience."[/I]

Really ?? Uncapped sure but he missed THROTTLED ... and that comment about ''extra capacity'' is absurd ... you PAID for the capacity .. its not like Throttlebug is GIVING you a gift or doing you a favour?? FFS???

Hey MWEB Guy! I ordered my Range Extender in January and have been getting the run around whenever I ask for it. I don't understand how people who have ordered their Range Extenders AFTER me have received theirs... I inquired yet again about my free Range Extender today and was told that I had already received mine in December. When I tried to explain that that was impossible, I was put on hold for 7 glorious minutes and then disconnected.

I'm also experiencing rather sluggish International access.

Hi Schitzo

I checked on our side and you will be getting the extender. I will be following up with our team to find out roughly when it will be delivered to you.

We not having any international issues at the moment. I would advise that you change the username realm on the username to @dslmweb.co.za.

Same here! Got the message saying they are now in stock but still nothing....

We have received the new stock and are doing our best to get through the backlog

That's great but router received 30 January... after a long wait for that. It is now 4 April. The issue is not so much the wait but, as pointed out above, the fact that we hear of others joining the deal now and getting their range extenders immediately. There seems to be a LIFO principle rather than a FIFO one.

However, I fear that I may be disappointed in the range extender when received as I am hearing talk of poor range with them. I still want to be able to test myself though.

Hi Mweb Guy,

You mentioned a 7 work day turnaround time with Telkom.
We are at day 10. Any feedback?

Thank you,

Hi Vl@d, I will follow up on this for you and I will arrange for you to be contacted.

This now BS. my avg ping today is 556ms. Only way to resolve is to be nr 40 in the queue and ask for a port reset, every single day this week. Just when I thought "Stick with MWEB".

Mweb Guy, please can you publicly share these new threshold levels so we are all aware and there is some transparency. Thanks.

Morning TheLaggingShaman

How is your connection this morning? Are you still experiencing such results?

Hi Mweb Guy spoke to a technician last night. Said you are still waiting for an answer fom telkom. Could we test my line at 4mb and see if the SNR gets better? Maybe that could reduce my dc's?
What bothers me however is that the past week was relatively fine but since 9 this morning I had a few disconnects already.

Morning Vl@d

I have synced the line at 4Mb. Please reboot the router and keep testing during the day. When our team contacts you again, you can let them know that we synced the line at 4Mb to test if things improve.

Cool thank you see marginal increase in SNR noise hopefully it's enough
