MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

If I am on a new MSAN does that automatically mean I can get VDSL or are there other factors? Also does the Technicolor modem not show the attainable rate anywhere.

Hi Soul Assassin

Do you want to know if the FON router shows, what you syncing at?

No, I know what I'm syncing at, every other modem I've seen shows current sync and a theoretical attainable sync, it does not seem to be the case with the FON router for some reason. My stats greatly improved about a week ago and I can only think it's because I was moved to a MSAN. What I basically want to know is, how do I find out if I'm capable of getting VDSL?

Hi Soul Assassin

I checked your line and it shows yes that you on a MSAN and that your speeds is over 10MB

The only way to know is to apply for a faster line speed and see if Telkom says if it's possible or not.

Enter your phone number here and you can see if your line supports VDSL :

http://www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/

It still tells me the fastest I can get is 4mbps, I've been on 10mbps for 5 months and now I'm connected to a MSAN. On another Telkom VDSL page if I enter my number it says no VDSL for me, but if I use the map on the same page my house is in the green area.

Hi mwebguy could you drop my speed back to 4mb to test again?
Getting dc's between 5 to 10 minutes tonight weekend was bearable. Gaming tonight is a nightmare.

Evening, I have changed the line profile to 4MB.

Please reboot your router and let me know if it helps

Good Evening All, We will be doing planned maintenance between 1AM and 6AM tomorrow morning.

This should have no customer impact, however you might experience intermittent connectivity.

Please bear with us during this time and thank you for your patience

Kind regards
MWEB Guy

Hello,

It looks like the planned maintenance started a bit early? Its 11:00 pm and I can not even load Twitter, looks like international traffic is gone but local traffic still works.
