MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Massive latency this morning, even local is crawling. AH is also suffering but Vox seems ok. Anyone else having issues?

Can't login to email either. Can login to account, just not webmail.

P.S - Yep, I bought a desk calender just so I could count down the days until I'm free.

Hi Mephisto_Helix, has your latency improved ?

If not provide me with a ping test result and a trace route result

Same tonight. my Call of duty: Advanced warfare won't connect online. My friend also on mweb and can't connect either. All people on non mweb accounts can play so must be MWEB. please look at this and please don't ignore me.

Hi Nelis

Please see my reply to the PM you sent me.

Well speed test says my speeds are fine but downloads and streaming only use half the available speed. This started from yesterday here in Durban.

@MWEB Guy
Hi there, my ADSL has taken a massive dive in terms of speed yesterday and today. I'm getting probably 30 Kb/s even at non-peak times. I'm near Northcliff in Johannesburg. Is this an issue you are aware of or that you can assist me with? Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of a speedtest I just did: http://imgur.com/KWmBpYU

Good Morning, the account shows that you are currently being throttled.

This is what is impacting on your speeds.

I also had major line speed issues last night from around 17:00 onwards. At 21:00 I gave up and switched off. This is on the (016) area. My ping jumped from a normal 13ms to 145ms and max download was 2.35mbps. I couldnt test this morning due to load shedding. Were there general issues last night?

Morning Drifter

We have no confirmed outages for your area during the stipulated times.

Please let me know what your experience is like when you get home.

Hopefully there will be no load shedding then ;)

I'm throttled? I only download late at night, can't you only throttle me late at night...

Not very good: On hold with call centre as I type this.

Download Speed: 4818 kbps (602.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 233 kbps (29.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 121 ms

OK, recreated port etc etc, now in line with telkom guest account. Will monitor. This is becoming a weekly issue though.

I keep getting little traffic blackouts ....... behold

Last night at midnight my internet went dead. my line was syncing just fine even after rebooting the router it was n't connecting to my account. I think it's time. It's not worth fighting with MWEB as they incompetent to help people in the right directions. Time to look for another ISP. So glad I will get Fibre at work soon so i can get away from This Mweb Crap. A telkom tech came to my site and we streamed a youtube video 1080p flawlessly with no buffer on a 3mb line then I switched to Mweb also on 3mb line and couldn't even stream 720p. So mweb please don't talk nonsense and don't pass the bucket.

Hey MWeb Guy

I use the DynDNS DDNS service for a couple of hosts on my network, and I'm having trouble with patchy DNS performance from MWeb's default DNS server(s) (usually 197.84.84.84 - 197-84-84-84.mweb.cpt.co.za).
I see this with my own hostnames, but it also affects general web browsing to some extent.

Referring to the NSLOOKUP session screengrab below, the lookup commands were entered within a few seconds of one another, but not so fast so as to be seen as flooding (I don't think) :

DNS performance.jpg

As you can see, on the MWeb DNS server, the queries occasionally get refused. On Google public DNS (8.8.8.8), they work every time.
Can you shed any light on why that might be happening ?

There absolutely was an outage last night after midnight - what's the story ?
