The people with FON routers, is the FON wifi network still visible at your place? Few months ago I one day realised that the FON wifi network isn't visible anymore, I queried this with MWeb and they said it's a known issue or something like that. A week or 2 later I for some reason had to reset my router to factory defaults and set it up from scratch, then suddenly the FON network showed up again. Last week I once again realised the FON wifi doesn't show, this must have been on going for weeks even months, I just didn't realise. Since it anyway doesn't show I contribute nothing to the greater network in my area, so I might as well stop using the router and switch to a different one. I anyway plan to get myself a new router and I get no benefit at all from having FON.

Morning bigboy529, you do benefit from using the FON router. You obtain an uncapped experience at MWEB and AlwaysON wifi hot spots.

Have you tried resetting the router again to see if the FON signal re-appears?

If this does not help, please let me know.

Since having FON, since almost right back when you guys launched it, I used MWeb hotspots less than a hand full of times at different places, so I don't need it and won't miss it. It probably will come back if I reset my router again, but it shouldn't be nececery to do whether every few weeks or months, so clearly something is wrong.

Some times the back end systems may need to re-update, which could cause what you've experienced.

Let me know if you would like me to have this escalated.

Yep, seems like there is major issues on Mweb at the moment. We host multiple services at their DC in CPT and cannot reach any of it...

No issues here since waking up at 07h30.

Those with issues should just use a free Afrihost and/or WebAfrica 1GB account for now (assuming they're connecting).

Good Morning All, we are currently investigating an outage which is affecting some services hosted in our data centre in Cape Town.

The outage has also affected our telephony system, therefore you will not be able to reach our call centre at the moment.

Engineers are on site.

Updates to follow shortly.

Please bear with us during this time.

:D

I'm sure those affected will be relieved! Especially at the fast turnaround.

This is why we love MWEB. ;)
