I tried multiple games. These are the main ones I play online however.
Destiny
EOS
Battlefield
Journey

Not a single one of them can connect. With Destiny, I get past the first sign in screen, and the moment I select my character, I get booted as connection to the server was lost. EOS cannot connect at all, and battlefield is the same. Journey just gives an error.

You shouldn't be having any issues with gaming. MWEB is known for its emphasis on gaming. http://www.mweb.co.za/games/servers

I have run out of data on my secondary account with FNB. So can't test using that right now.

I have phoned MWEB to check that the router was set up correctly (go back a to the previous page, and you will see my rant as I had to phone 3 times before a consultant would walk me through the router settings, MWEBHelp has said that he has raised the issue)

My problem is that my router got taken out by Lightning, and since then, my line has been unstable. I think the traceroutes mentioned will help, and will do that when I get home.

Also want to pick up a different router, to test and make sure it is not the router.

At the moment, I believe my problem is with the line itself. It is as if there is a massive delay on anything happening. On Netflix, that is not a problem, as latency means nothing, but most online games will kick you if your latency is above 400ms I believe.

Will run more tests, hopefully I can get it sorted. Or I can get fibre installed, and get off the useless telkom backbone

There is many free accounts you can apply for they give you like 1 gig for free to test you can try that but i think you may have a router problem because lightning could have damaged it

Lightning took out that router. Got a new router on the same day. But may be a faulty one, don't know

yip, it is a required field. But lets wait for @mwebhelp to look at the trace results posted on this page and the previous one, and see where the problem may be

Evening, the initial trace routes done this morning showed a jump in latency to mweb.co.za. It showed 66ms on the 3rd hop, which is a bit on the high side.

The second batch of trace routes, showed an improvement though.

Before I request speed test readings with the Guest account. I have now changed a setting on your account and recreated the port.

Please switch your router off for 5 minutes and test your gaming.

I would like to know whether you are able to establish a connection and to game.

Edit: the trace routes also do not show an issue with the router. The 1st hop represents the router and its has a response time of 1ms; which is good.

No Joy, still cannot log into the game.

if anybody is an expert on trendnet routers, and knows how to do port forwarding for PS4 games, please let me know.

Everything working on my line, only gaming is not.
