Support just says sorry we can't help you the system hasn't stated how long the throttle will last. This is getting ridiculous.

Since an average of 7gigs a day i don't see as i'm abusing there bandwidth and i have never recieved any communication from them stating that i'm going to be throttled.

My internet seems to be fine now. Would love to know what the issue was and don't come with the no nothing was wrong. I know the problem was with mweb.

Because it would be a schlep to move my line back to telkom. And this is the first big issue that has risen on my account in a year. so going to give them till today to sort out there automated throttling system or i will move, Though i wonder how many more people going to complain soon if i'm getting throttled with so little usage.
 
What's the cancellation procedure? I don't find myself needing uncapped anymore with the way capped prices are going...

Average of 7 Gigs a day, is around 10 hours of downloading at full speed a day...

A pattern seems to be forming here, someone complaining that they were throttled for doing 50gigs in 15 days on a 1 Meg premuin account.. which is an average of 3.4 gig a day, which is also around 10 hours a day of full speed downloading.
 
How do I convert it to 1gig? There's only an option to upgrade the account on the CP...
 
Has anyone resolved whether you would get refunded cash or account credit? If the latter you might as well just cancel otherwise you'll have a 1MB account for 10 months.

Yes and I got throttled again for doing 10.5 gb in 3 days. So your theory seems to be correct.
 
So maybe i should just drop down to the non premium version and get the same shaping for cheaper -_-

maybe i should just pay more to afrihost and get the business adsl then because i want uncapped to actually mean uncapped and there is no way that i'm in the top 3 %

When i phoned support they couldn't even tell me how long i will be shapped for and was told if i don't want to be shaped i must upgrade to 4mb -_-

They the Mdweeps are lying. 4M are also throttled albeit at a slightly higher value but that's not just it, If they detect you are active on your line 24/7 that's abuse and they will throttle you again. Its not just a specific GB value. You may as well get a fixed capped account from Afrihost and enjoy full max speed at a good price.

Just do the right thing. Send MWeb to hell!

Lol i better change soon Battlefield 4 is going to have me permently throttled since the game will push me over fair usage :D
