MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I haven't been monitoring this thread for months... so all of MWEB's ADSL accounts are now thottled, but they don't reveal the threshold? :wtf:

And you would think back to a time the beast was worth defending. We took turns in the x-mweb thread to help out... good days gone.

Yeah all accounts are so now and mweb are keeping the threshold and limits to themselves, even though other ISPs had and have them defined. Money talks and greed corrupts.

Indeed :(

Hi DarkSpectre

The limits were not provided to us to share. There is a tool on My Account that shows you the usage for the last 30 days.

Fat lot of good that does! It's like driving to work each day - in reverse!

MWEB's unshaped products are not throttled. Bloody expensive. R2359 4mbps Uncapped Unshaped Unthrottled.

Correct me if im wrong MWEB guy??

Our unshaped packages are still subject to our AUP but there isn't any threshold for the account.

Which includes in the AUP ....inter alia ......

''We reserve the right to establish policies, rules and limitations, from time to time, concerning the use of any service. You must comply with any bandwidth, data storage and other limitations we may impose, in our reasonable discretion. Failure to comply with these rules will result in your service being restricted, suspended or terminated, in our reasonable discretion."'

In other words there isn't any threshold, unless we decide otherwise and we can change these rules whenever we like .... not so?

After all, this is how MWEB justified the throttling ... You didn't change anything just enforced your AUP ,,, your words ... not mine.

I too am confused.... MWEB guy does that mean I will be able to download more on a unshaped account before being throttled?? Or can I get throttled if there is no threshold??

Read Fail?

How is it possible to abide by an AUP, which imposes throttling, when it is not indicated at what point the throttling will be effective.

Abide by the speed limit, but we're not telling you what that limit is. We'll fine you if you drive to fast, though.

Thanks, but I've looked in the MyAccount section and it says "Throttled" so I guess this is expected performance. I've already started the move away from Mweb.

Here were my Bandwidth total btw:
336GB this month.
420GB 30 days rolling.

I wouldn't even feature on the leaderboard at Afrihost: http://www.afrihost.com/site/page/uncapped_adsl_leader_board

It was fun while it lasted.

FYI: I was on the "Premium Uncapped ADSL" for R539.

So the +/- 400GB limit seems to be there. Thanks for sharing the details.

From reading what others have posted the 1mbps seems to be around 100gb

I personally have done 186Gb on my 2mb premium and have not been throttled

So they must be 100, 200 and 400Gb ... hmmm ...

Haven't seen throttle notice on any of the 2mbps yet? I think it's around 100-120GB on 1mbps.

LOL. Beware... (esp, if you are on mweb)

Killzone: Shadow Fall File Size is 39.7 GB

What can we say? Games are large these days. It was just announced this morning that Call of Duty: Ghosts for PC will need 40 GB, and now if you're planning on downloading Killzone: Shadow Fall, it will take up almost that much on the PS4 (39.7 GB).

Guerrilla Games did note with Eurogamer that this is the size of the European version of the game; the North America version is a mere 37 GB.

"The bulk of it is textures," Michiel van der Leeuw, the studio's technical director, said. "I think we're probably a lot larger than the other cross-generation games, because we have no assets that have been made to a lower spec."

He also pointed out that the game is a bit more open than its predecessors. "The surface area, I'm just guessing here, must be five to 10 times bigger than Killzone 3 was," he said.
Those who purchase the game via download from the PlayStation Store will be able to start playing the game once it downloads about 7.5 GB.
Killzone: Shadow Fall will launch with the PS4 on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.

4MB Uncapped account - Download speed of 5kb/s at 17:00 , wnet up to 41kb/s at 21:30. Account is not throttled. Im so gatvol of this BS.

Regardless if its a torrent or not, 3 months ago I downloaded the same file with less seeds/peers and was over 300kb/s.

Hi Gerhardva

As we have mentioned before on our thread numerous times, torrents and such data receive the lowest priority. We have also never guaranteed these speeds.

What are your other speeds like and is it only your PC connected to the router? Please provide me with a speed test result.
