I would have to agree with the assumption of 100gb /mbs.
Now we just need a 10mbps user to confirm he gets throttled at 1TB

Mweb Guy you awfully quiet nowadays??
Its the quiet before the storm... They are preparing a massive price cut with all their additional capacity![]()
Hope so especially a price cut want to upgrade to a 10mb

What percentage of the MWEB userbase is subjected to throttling at any given time? Previously, MWEB was at pains to point out that only a tiny fraction of users got the banhammer email. I wonder if the same is true now.
That makes no sense, IPC is cheaper bought in bulk, shedding too much capacity will just increase the cost per user for mweb. And of course a price cut means more customers thus they would have to rebuy all that capacity they got rid of. I can tell you what will happen instead, prices won't change and mweb will report even better financial results....Perhaps this is what Derek wanted. Perhaps to many R199 customers were downloading between 200 and 300gb and this whole thing is but a plan to free up capacity to drop the pricing of the 4mbps and 10mbps data accounts once Telkom has upgrade all the lines
I Just got throttled yesterday, Total data for last 30 days is 419GB, so seems like the 100GB/1mbps is as close as it gets to what they throttle on. this the only issue I have with mweb. Other than that, line speed was great up until I got throttled.
Well, I have past the 450Gig mark and I have not been throttled yet .... But then again, I am not with the ISP that's screws the little guy anymore.... Lovely not having to self regulate .... I can abuse myself as I feel fit .....

Sorry to hear, I'm assuming you were on 4mbps?
MWeb Guy, with regards to the throttling, don't you think it would be a good idea to have weekends and possibly week nights be measured outside of the throttle total? Like the other ISPs?
Need some help from someone who knows the system better than I do.
I cancelled my account yesterday so I'll have Mweb till end November.
On the accounts page it says that I was billed on 25 Oct.
So I was thinking that I wanted to downgrade to a 1GB account for the last month, but since I've already been billed, I don't know how this will work. If I do downgrade to the 1GB account will Mweb refund the amount charged for the 2MB account or do they put it on credit in your account?
No use downgrading for the last month if I get credit as I'll effectively have to pay double for my Uncapped for the month.
Any assistance is appreciated.
