MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Okay I live in the remotest part of Northern KZN, a little town called Ladysmith. My line speed has just been upgraded from 1mbps to 2mbps by Telkom. The reason I imparted my location is to imply that if I, an ADSL subscriber from ****s-ville SA can get my line upgraded before Mweb can announce what they are going to do (free or non free upgrades) then something is wrong? Please no need for the standard our products team are busy hard at work.... tripe. As you know I am five days away from no longer being a customer so it really does not matter to me. Just thought your existing customer base might like an answer :)

MOrning Shvak, we are not the only ISP that has not released the revised costing.

We will do this in due course though...

Well, it's in part thanks to you spammers that I've decided to sign up with Mweb - so your campaign of spam and abuse has had the opposite of your intended effect :)
No problem dude, its your money. Have fun :)

Just yanking your chain one last time. You have an unforgiving job to do. I do not envy your task.

No im not at home at the moment. do i need to be home in order for you to try fix it.

Hi supafly1

No you don't need to be at home for me to drop the connection but to reboot the router, yes you'll need to be at home.

So basically what we're dealing with here is a game of chicken? Who will blink first? You bluffed when you said you'd release updated prices early last week, and everyone else called your bluff?

I think it's time to switch, hopefully someone that switched still reads this thread. How do I go about having MWEB move my line back to Telkom and then converting my account to the 1GB before cancelling and moving to another ISP.

One piece of advice the ladies at Mweb are loathed to send you stuff in a hurry and will try and drag it out till the next calendar month God bless them. So make sure to PM Mwebguy to ensure you have records of the departure. Took them 72 hours to send me official notification that they had accepted my cancelation. Takes only 15 minutes for them to start taking money from you lol

If I call or email them to switch me to a 1GB account will they automatically move my line back to Telkom, I don't want any cancelling of my line.

The line belongs to you. You just ask them to switch it back. Mweb cannot close a line as it is in your name as far as I am aware. PM Mwebguy he is very helpful and I am sure he can walk you through the process. It is not like you are the first guy to cancel. He has dealt with thousands of such requests :)

I'm clearly just being paranoid, tell me if I have everything right:

Call them on 021 596 8480 and choose option 2 and move me to 1GB on 01-12-2013
Send in cancellation form right after calling, the 1GB account will then be cancelled on 01-01-2014
On 01-12-2013 call new ISP.

Am I missing anything?
