MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I'm clearly just being paranoid, tell me if I have everything right:

Call them on 021 596 8480 and choose option 2 and move me to 1GB on 01-12-2013
Send in cancellation form right after calling, the 1GB account will then be cancelled on 01-01-2014
On 01-12-2013 call new ISP.

Am I missing anything?

So you didn't need 30 days notification on migrating?

In a previous thread on or before the 25th of the month was mentioned, I did PM MWEB Guy and asked.

I think it's time to switch, hopefully someone that switched still reads this thread. How do I go about having MWEB move my line back to Telkom and then converting my account to the 1GB before cancelling and moving to another ISP.

Afternoon Soul Assassin

Sorry to hear you would like to switch providers.

As per our T&C's, we require a calendar months notice period. If you would like the line migrated back to Telkom sooner, we can have it done, but bear in mind that Telkom will charge you for that period.

ok im home now, its working then not working then working than not again

Hi supafly1

How often has it been working, then not working, then working? Does it stay up for a few minutes, etc?

ok not sure the first time, but when i got home it stoped, went up for like 10 min then droped, the 15 min then dropped now so far about 10 min and still running

ok just dropped again and gave me the following error: Other Error:
The setting of Dynamic Ip or Static IP connection is not valid.

then came back on again

And to confirm, you said that the other ISP account was working well.

This was my plan - and it worked.
1. Send an email now, down grade to R79 deal for December.
2. E mail - give December as months notice
3. Put a stop on the account, you have paid for November.
4. Ask for banking details to do an EFT for the R79.
5. Campaign for the DRACONIAN throttling to end.....
6. Enjoy the internet as it was meant to be enjoyed

Beware of
1. They may give you some BS story about a months notice to change plans ... nonsense.
2. They will used ''advanced billing'' to get more money from you ... their accounts section is hopeless.
3. Your e mails will only be read a few days after you sent them .... use them as evidence ... the time lag is THEIR problem
4. They will take at least a week to give you their banking details - keep proof that you requested it.

Moving the line takes two days ... CALL them twice a day.

Good luck and good move. :)

If I promise to not exceed my average download per month will your bump me up to 2Mbps as my line has been upgraded to it?

The phrase "'exceed my average download per month'' has been replaced with ''abuse'' by Mr. Hershaw .... So, its like asking .. If I promise not to abuse myself can I upgrade from a pocket to a pocket knife for Christmas...Mr. Hershaw sir...:D

Mr Hershaw has replaced quite a few things i.e. from changing the 1st ISP to offer uncapped to basic and premium uncapped to basic and basic2 uncapped and now to last ISP to upgrade speeds with a lets keep them a month more on lower speeds.

Still I believe my offer is pretty reasonable seeing other ISPs have upgraded users for free. Mr Hershaw is a money man and if I make the offer of not exceeding my average usage if he upgrades me for free like TElkom ISP and Axxess surely he will see the logic in my offer and say OK.

Has Afrihost released updated prices yet?

yes that is correct, the other connection is stable,

What I'm going to do is log this with our technical team. They will make contact with you to troubleshoot further in order to establish what could be causing the connection to drop.

PM me when is a convenient time for them to contact you.
