MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Thanks, I will have to check it out again this evening. I'm pretty sure I'm still unthrottled. Did a speed test this morning and it seemed normal again. I'll see later. Still awaiting a decent 2mb package. Competitor's 2mb package is looking alot more attractive than mweb's 2mb - 70gb standard package.

Hey MWEB Guy - thanks for assisting with my upgrade to a 4mb Premium all-inclusive package! My account on MWEB's client portal indicates a 4mb line, but my speedtests are atrocious - even with only one PC running and no torrents. Torrents of course are running at 0.0 or 0.1 kb/s.

How do I check at what speed my line is syncing?

Does this have anything to do with it?

When doing a speedtest, what results are you getting? I can't view the image, its too small.

You can see on the router stats at which speed the line is syncing.

Hi.

Has anyone been experiencing connection issues today? I've been randomly unable to access the internet. Our DSL modem is up and synced, so no issues there, it's just that there's nothing 'coming through'... this is happening with both local and international sites. 10 minutes later it's working again for about 15min, then just like that it's off again... no sync issues however, so what's going on???

Ah, I should have mentioned some details. On 2mb with mweb/4mb telkom and am in Jukskei Park(Northern Randburg) area.

Afternoon Demeter

There are no reported issues in the Jukskei Park area that we aware of. How often is this happening on your side? Has it just started today or been going on a few days/week?

The speedtests are better now (3.32mbps up and 0.40mbps down as opposed to 0.27mbps up and 0.40mbps down), but torrents are still at 0.1kbs.

Please let me know how to look at the stats, i.e. if my attainable rate is 9696mb and my rate is 4096mb, does that mean my line syncs at 4mb?

Thanks for the reply. I've just switched over to 3G.

I've just noticed this connection issue today. As I mentioned, our modem reports a steady sync and uptime, but i don't get anything coming through. Browser says that "the remote server has stopped responding and the page cannot load." It seems to be erratic as it works for a couple of minutes and then stops again. Tested this on multiple devices to make sure it's not an issue related to one device.

At least one other ISP has admitted that speeds are slow due in part to the Nelson Mandela events and the news services coupled with school holidays ... Just saying ... Maybe WWEB Guy can confirm?

Hey Gents, the network is running fine. Had a look at the graphs and we are under no pressure.

Enough bandwidth available ;)

Thanks. Will keep checking what potting on my side then.
...maybe it's because the CIA is here atm... *puts on tin-foil hat*

Something is up. All pages are timing out on MWeb. Modem reset did nothing. Other ISP account running fine.

Strange thing is that I get perfect pings to sites, it just won't load any site in a browser.

Evening, we have no reported issues on our network at the moment.

Have you tried clearing cookies and cache or using an alternate browser?

It was on two different computers running different OS's. But thanks anyway. It seems to have sorted itself out :D
