MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Mr Mweb,

I've recently upgraded to a 4mb premium account. Yet my speeds are poor? can you please look into this?

Also, I was contact and offered your 4mb standard account. Why is this?

Regards,

Good morning CharlieBoi

I would like to look into what could be causing the poor speeds on your side. Please PM me the MWEB email address in order for me to look further into this.

I'm not sure, I would need to look at your current usage to see from our side if that could be a reason.

I recently rejoined MWEB and thus far I am really impressed with Netflix streaming on their 4Mbps Premium Uncapped product. Compared to the issues I lately had on Telkom Internet Uncapped this is heaven.

Morning DawieZA

Thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback.

Glad you are enjoying the service :) Happy surfing ;)

Hi guys, I'm considering moving from AH to Mweb. It will probably be the 6mb uncapped package.
How is mweb when it comes to online gaming?
Also, I've received the below information from them regarding throttling. I'm a above avg downloader, probably do about +-350gb per month. Can anyone confirm the below is accurate in the real world?

6 mb Standard @ R359 Data only +/- 150 GB before throttling

6 mb Premium @ R699 Data only +/- 600 GB before throttling

Thanks :)

Morning ntn

I can arrange that we set you up on a trial package so you can test it yourself. It's a free 7 day trial account, you can game, stream, etc, use it as a normal account.

If you would like that, please PM me your contact details so that I can have our team contact you.

If you are considering the 6Mb package, our Premium package's threshold limit is in the region of 600GB. If you average about +- 350GB, you could consider the 4Mb package @ R539 per month for the Data Only. The threshold is in the region of 400GB on the 4Mb package.

NORMAL? And you get gaming/streaming?

Then as soon as you sign up for a NORMAL account P2P, gaming & streaming all come to a grinding halt!

False advertising at its best!

Hi Mwebguy I've just looked at the price for a 2mb Premium Uncapped line all inclusive : R509 on your website. Why am I still getting billed at R 599 for the exact same package?

Afternoon brb

The reason is because your line has been upgraded by Telkom to up to 4Mb. We can't automatically downgrade the package as there are customer's that would like to upgrade to the 4Mb package.

Would you like to remain on the 2Mb package with a 2Mb line? I can arrange for this to happen and for the billing to be adjusted.

Very slow web browsing for international sites here in Centurion. Has been the case all afternoon, now working from my Afrihost backup account and it seems to be fine.

Please assist by providing me a trace route and a ping to bbc.co.uk

Looks to me like Seacom is having issues. Very obvious congestion on Mweb's network to some international destinations and I see a few other providers on Seacom who also seem to have lost circuits.

Hi Mweb guy,

Thanks for the response.

With regards to being offered to downgrade our premium account, we just upgraded our account from 2mb premium 24 hours prior. So I doubt it has to do with our usage.

Evening, our engineers are working on the issue at the moment; hopefully we can resolve it shortly.

I will provide more feedback as soon as the issue is resolved.

Seacom is down? Didn't even notice it.

Oh wait... must not be dependent on or have redundancy where I am now at.

Evening, redundancy has kicked in; however I have reported that clients are still having a poor general experience.

Good Evening All, international traffic has been restored.

Please reboot your router for 5min or change your username realm (to force a new IP connection)

Our Engineers are still monitoring.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
