MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Interesting.

How about some test results while you wait?

Don't let me get in your way though, Sherlock. ;)
Save the sarc Pot

Its a simple straight forward question for which I would like an answer from the Mweb authority.

As for tests, it was past midnight and rather than F about running tests I figured a good nights sleep would serve me better for work today ;)
My download meter told the story well enough.

Do you not see that the answer is even more straightforward? What difference does it make who confirms it? I find it quite bizarre.

Anyway, likewise I couldn't care much, just trying to help by answering your question, and trying to get you to analyse further.

Nope, I did nothing, no testing no faffing about.
So whether it was synching at 2 or 4 I cannot say, just that what was coming down the pipe was at 2mb speed.

I will see this evening if things have improved.

Great, let's see then.

But at the same time, this is what I find baffling. You denied assistance from someone offering to explore all avenues for your benefit, while showing you that there is no goosechase.

Anyway, have a lovely day. :)

Pot, really I denied nothing, it was bloody late and I needed to go to bed. I was not about to start digging into this on my end at that stage/time. If it was earlier I would have done all of what you have suggested on my own.
Just accept that.

So accounts/usernames only support one concurrent connection, that's what we are told.
I merely want MWeb Guy to confirm that, nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you for your response, it is appreciated, but it is now moving from trying to be helpful to mildly irritating.

My bad, I did not realise that you did not have time for a tracert, ping and Speedtest.

We'll wait for MWEB Guy then, and goodness forbid you get home to 2Mbps. :p Then I'll definitely leave it in MWEB Guy's hands.

After getting various emails telling me I have to setup the mweb fon router, otherwise they will invoice me for it, I eventually caved and connected the router. The internet was unstable and all of a sudden my torrents was completely dead after connecting the router even though it was running at +- 120kbps before I connected the router. When I put on the fon router I got speeds of 0.2kbs for downloading torrents (I am defenitly not shaped).

I have now decided that I no longer want to use the fon router and you welcome to take it back. I have reconnected my normal router but yet my torrents are still at 0.1kbs and 0.2kbps. Please could you look in to this

Morning, we do not guarantee torrent speeds and they do receive the lowest priority on our network; unless you are on a unshaped package.

Please provide me your MWEB account details via private message

Yes I am aware of this, but surely the highest speed for 2 days can not be 10kbs? This includes after hours? Even last night at 10pm I was getting torrent speeds of 0.1kbs. My speeds have never been this low. Find it strange that it happened directly after connecting your router

Will pm my details now

Eventually, after two weeks downtime, my MWEB 4mb premium uncapped ADSL is working again. In a rough-and-ready manner... The internet connection is veeeeery slow and it disconnects all the time. Please have a look into this.

Sounds like these FON routers are giving issues. I havent connected mine yet. Maybe I should just send it back. They charged me R799 for it anyways.

Morning, please provide me speed test readings using saix.net

There was a telkom guy at my place and fixed something. At least the connection is stable for 30 minutes already. Also it is faster now but still not what I pay for (4 mbit):

Cmd + Space/Spotlight Search > Network Utilities

Trace route "www.mweb.co.za"

Of the results, second hop is where your connection reaches Telkom infra. Copy the IP address of this hop.

Ping the IP address, please post results. Use PasteBin if it's lengthy, but 20 - 50 pings will do.
