Well just used a nexusisp capped 1GB account and I can connect but mweb it doesn't work so please fix this or I will have to leave mweb for good. I think i must just get it over and done with and just leave.

It's not worth fighting about this if you guys don't want to help then screw you ffs. I demand a refund or discount for december

As for the other info.. what specifically are you looking for? I don't know any technical details - I click the icon to launch the game, enter my details and press login :) As for what is happening "under the hood" when I do this, I have no idea.

What stage of the login does it time out?

Does it time out after you enter your login details?

Well, yes... how else would it time out?

One thing I can add, though... if I enter in an incorrect password, I will be informed of this within a second or 2..

Also, I should add that playing this game can fail for two different reasons: failure to login (as discussed above, linked to shaping), and secondly, when I can login in, but the connection is so unstable that I cannot remain logged in. The second usually happens on weekends (when there is no shaping), or when there is no shaping but my wife is trying to download something. Two problems: one is shaping related, the other is "poor internet connection" related.

My query is specifically about the first issue: when I can view YouTube clips, but cannot do P2P (torrents).... or login to the game.

All i can suggest is get away from mweb. They will never be able to solve your issue. They don't even reply to me in this thread. just shows they don't care anymore. They will go down same way Telkom and post office does.

1st they don't care about p2p and 2nd the mweb gamemaster will just feel offended the whole time and never come back to you or just say they busy looking into it for weeks. My issue has been ongoing for 2 weeks now with nobody smart enough here to solve the darn issue. I think we should all boycott mweb.

And looking around the forum I'm not sure where you'll go as I see a lot more complaint activity on the other ISP threads.
 
Hmmm, so Workerdroid7 is having issues with online gaming, so am I. Of late it has been near impossible to connect to my online game. I get to login phase, and then it just times out. Maybe MWEB must relook the gaming protocols. Is this perhaps a clue that could resolve many users who struggle to play online? Just to add, my browsing, youtube etc will be flawless, just impossible to connect to the gaming server in the US.

This is exactly my experience.... it is clear to me that the "shaping process" is targeting gaming as well as P2P. Whether it is deliberate or accidental is a different matter... and, for the record, my gaming server is in the EU.

Oh, and just to shed extra light on the matter.... this problem never occurs during the weekends.

Edit: oh, and I've been mostly happy with what Mweb has provided me with too - I've had no real cause to look elsewhere.

I should have mentioned that as well(Bold part above). On weekends I hardly ever have issues getting in to the game. I also think it's the shaping. Last night I manged to get in , but only after 20:00.
 
I'm not happy cause I payed R525 fror a game that struggles to connect and makes me not wanting to buy any games in the future due to maybe being unable to connect. Will mweb solve this soon or not
 
Lag while playing wow, 800 latency. Do a speed test 400 MS. Switch to my afrihost 1gb account, speed test 18 MS... PLEASE can i not just get answers saying "Appears to be fine on our side"
 
I have a 1 Meg uncapped account on a 2 Meg line. My torrents are downloading at over 170kb/s. I'm a bit curious. This happens now and then.

As you are aware these speeds fluctuate and are not guaranteed.

Make hay when the sun shines ;-) ( Don't forget the thresholds )
