Hi TonyM,

You can do a speedtest from the MWEB site found on the following link:

Please PM me your MWEB account details.

Hi

I've been experiencing disconnects on my line since yesterday! Every few minutes the connection drops and then reconnects after a short while. Phoned MWEB last night, they say it's not on their end, Telkom says there's no faults in my area. I know it's not the router, as I've tried with two different routers.
The line hasn't stayed connected for longer than maybe half an hour. Can't play online games at all, as the connection drops entirely, not lag.

Help?

Hey Guy

I recently upgraded my line to 4MB and migrated to MWeb from Telkom at the beginning of the month. Now I understand that I should be getting around 425KB/s transfer rate, which I had been until this past weekend. Since then I seem to be getting around 115KB/s transfer rate and don't understand why. Please could ya help.

I've done the speed tests and results are pretty much the same. 0.9Mbps download and 0.42Mbps upload and a ping of 40ms.

Hi Krisys,

I would like to look into this for you from our side. If those are the speedtest results for a 4Mb line then something is not look right. Please can you PM me the MWEB account details and I will look at it.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

All my recent issues had nothing to do with MWEB.

It was just Telkom being moderately clueless.

*edit*

Thanks again for all the efforts and callbacks in helping to diagnose the issue (which was eventually resolved by them doing some sort of fiddling at the exchange).

We have an Mweb uncapped 4Mbps connection and since the weekend we've been having seriously slow Internet speeds, and by slow I'm talking about a YouTube DL at 8Kbps.

I wasn't quite sure whether it was Telkom at fault, or Mweb. Considering we've only used 95GB of data so far this month, I find it unreasonable to expect throttling.

I loaded 1GB from Web Africa, and it seems that Mweb is the culprit, as can be seen by this screenshot here: http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh118/FlatspinZA/capture_21032012_142306.jpg - notice the drastic jump in speed.

We don't really need unlimited, uncapped Internet and if Mweb doesn't sort it's story out quickly, we'll be looking at WA's uncapped service, which probably doesn't allow the volumes Mweb does, but at least we won't be left wondering why our Internet is so slow, especially when we're within the FUP.

Hi FlatspinZA,

I would like to look into this from our side. Please can you PM me the MWEB account details in order for me to do so.

Also, bear in mind, a 1GB WA account, if that is a capped account, it is shaped differently to an uncapped shapped account.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

I have some difficulty connecting to any battlefield 3 servers. keeps on telling me I'm from country N/A. This happened ever since my ip changed from 41. to 197. This is on the normal account not the business account

the message I'm getting is

Game disconnected: you were kicked by an admin. Stated reason: Sorry, players from N/A are not allowed.

Evening Nelis, thanks for the feedback. I have escalated your query to our gaming team, however please note that both the accounts are business accounts (your home account linked to the business one).

Hi,

I seem to be having some problem with international connectivity. Doesn't seem like anyone else is having issues or is there a known problem? I doubt that I am throttled unless it was a mistake.

Just getting timeouts from loads of international sites.

Even on the MWEB site it just seems slow overall. Oh I am on the 4mb home uncapped btw.

Good evening wtfishaezer,

Please provide me your MWEB account details and some tracers to the sites that are timing out and we will look into it for you.

yeah, I've got no international either. On top of my previously mentioned disconnects. The disconnects are Telkom related though...not sure what this no international thing is
