Having packet loss issues, dunno if it's Mweb or Telskum, anyone else having any issues?

Edit - Seems to be ingame only, again. Please someone tell me why every 2nd week or so, I have crap with playing DDO. It starts with the higher ping, then packet loss and then back to normal after a week of BS. I'm really really getting sick of the way it keeps happening. Like the problem is just being plugged for a bit, not being fixed

From what I understand MWEB limits the amount of open connections - try adjust your used connections on uTorrent and then browse.
Had the same issue before, and the only way I could browse again was to close uTorrent / decrease open connections
(NOT a router setting in my case)

Hi Mephisto_Helix,

Have you perhaps tried querying it with our Gaming admins?

Also been experiencing packet loss recently playing LoL, doesn't seem to happen anywhere else, just ingame...really annoying as fsck when you're busy pwning thinking the 'lag' is gone, then suddenly everyone stops moving for a second, next second "SHUTDOWN"

Hi Magnarmalok,

You are currently running simultaneous connections with an Uncapped account. I'm going to drop both and then please switch off for a few minutes and test thereafter.

MwebGuy, what is the issue about simultaneous connections? It's only about the throughput not?

wily me, with the uncapped account, you can't have simultaneous connections, you can only connect from 1 location at a time.

That I know but when you have a router with more than one PC on the lan it should be fine?

That is fine, but bear in mind the speed will be shared amongst the PC's.

That clear! :) It still does not explain the sudden drop in the performance the last few days.

Maybe this do? The SNR is dropping lower. i am sure it was 13.x initially.

Current:

SNR Margin (dB): 10.5 8.0
Attenuation (dB): 37.0 16.5
Output Power (dBm): 12.4 19.8
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 7616 992
Rate (Kbps): 7040 800

Earlier:

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 800
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 7040
SNR Margin (dB): 12.5 8.0
Attenuation (dB): 37.0 16.5
Output Power (dBm): 12.4 19.8
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 7616 992

Before:

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 800+
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 8000
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10000+ ?

Please can you PM me the MWEB account details in order for me to look into this from our side.

Why does chat in G+ not work unless torrents are disabled?

I'd still like to know about this.

***

In other news, thanks MWEB Guy, spoke to a consultant, and I am inclined to agree it's a Telkom issue, and the other accounts working was dumb luck. My SNR seems to be fluctuating from 6-20 DB, so it's time for me to talk to Telkom. Again. :D

Hi copacetic,

Regarding G+ chat not working while torrents are enabled, if I have to answer, I would be lying. I will ask around to see if I can fnd out something regarding that.

:) Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

Wow one week later and telkom finally enabled their new cable, and I am up and running again..... speeds look good...

Only getting 2mbps on my 4 Mbps line...ping is also unusually high and it's a Sunday.

Hi feo,

If you only getting 2mbps all the time, have you perhaps checked with Telkom to see, what line speed you sync on?

Please provide me with a screenshot of an actual HTTP DL and a speed test from the following link: http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/MWEBSpeedTest.aspx

Also do a ping & tracert to any local and international site.

MWEB Guy
