Hello

Been having a bit of trouble with my conn. lately, I understand fully Torrents are shaped but where I was getting 20kB/s before during the day(ok with that) I am now getting 0kB/s till 5pm and then 20kB/s till 12 and then slowly ramps up during the night. This is taking it a bit far... YouTube as well is really slow in buffering these last few weeks.

Not sure if this next bit is you or Telkom but will try you first, I have a 1meg connection but up and down speeds seem a bit slow(unless I'm just being difficult and this is normal). This is as fast as it ever goes... I'm on "Newlands 1 Ocb283" exchange

Hi ScottulusMaximus

Send me your MWEB details so that I can investigate.

MWEB Guy, did you flick a switch somewhere? Youtube rather suddenly *seems* a lot better today. 720p is still a no-go, but at least 480p vids seem to be playing without intermittent buffering on my side...

Does anyone know how long an upgrade usually takes? I'm upgrading from 384 to 1mb, and its been 4 days already, still nothing.

I know they say it will take up to 10 days, but that doesn't mean that they should only pay attention to my request on 10th day!!

Hi HapticSimian

Nothing changed on our Network.

Hi Gunner182

Telkom has a 7 - 21 working day turn around. There are many factors that will play a role, which will determine how quick your request can be expedited.

I am experiencing a huge issue ... Perhaps MWeb guy can explain it to me how this is not an Mweb problem :)

I have checked my PC for any unusual open ports and found none.

Had this exact problem last night on the 011918 exchange. First time I've ever had it, and I had ..just.. installed a new router. Had me thinking the router was faulty for awhile :p
When I checked this morning, latency was normal. Hope it doesn't happen again.

After an hour of letting a torrent try to download my download speed is at 17kbs. My friend who is also on Mweb isn't even getting 1kbs.
This isn't normal. If the downloads were always like this in the day I would have said that its just that torrent speeds aren't guaranteed but I know that last week I got between 70 and 80kbs during the day and my friend between 20 and 30kbs.

What changed on the network that made the torrents so useless?

Usually things like this are fixed on the network withing a couple of hours or a day or 2. But now its been 2 weeks and the speeds are still awful. The speeds only normalize around 3am and are back to these poor numbers by 8am.

EDIT: Scratch my download speed. Back to 0kbs

Hi nasa,

There is no limit how much you can download.
As long as you abide by our AUP, you can download as much as you like. :)

Things also seem to be a bit slow on the connection for me as well - in Durbs. I have also done tracerts and ping for www.google.co.za and it is much slower than the mweb.co.za. ones. My torrents are also non-existent(0kb/s) for the last few days and is even running like that at night. Only relaxes during the deepest night (2-5am). Even then its a bit wonky. Please help Mweb Guy..

Hi

I have checked your account and all seems in order.
I have also checked the line and I can't pick up any issues there either.
Since then I have refreshed the account for you.
Please power down the router for a moment or two and let me if the issue persist.

Well now, for example, I am getting around 2 or 3 KBps...

Same here but peaks every few mins for a few seconds.

Also my hamachi hasn't been working since last night. Few of my friends on mweb are having the same problem.
