MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Hi Mweb Guy, I wanted to PM you on Twitter but decided to ask this here as other people may be curious. It's regarding my request to move my ADSL line to a 'closer' exchange.

According to Broadbandstats, my number is connected to 'RBGS' which is 5km away from me. I've put in a request to move to 'RBGSAB'/'RBGSAC' which is only 1.4km away from me (but in the other direction). Does this mean that my attenuation will go down because I'm going from 5km -> 1.4km, or will my attenuation actually go up because I'm going from 5km -> 6.4km?

RBGSA is the Benmore Exchange (where my line currently is), whereas RBGSAB/RBGSAC are exchanges that are a lot closer to my house, but still fall part of the RBGSA Benmore Exchange.

hey MG,

thanx for reset, but it seems to still be doing it.

I will be testing an AH account later tonight to see if it also does the same.

also, what would be the best to use: the @dslmweb or just the @mweb for account login?

Hi Off-The-Chart

The router configuration should be on @dslmweb.co.za

Hi XperiAnce

That decision lays with Telkom and even if they move you to the closer exchange, it all depends on how they route you to it.

We have queried this with Telkom for you on the open fault that has been logged.

Sad thing, is that when you move exchanges you have to reapply for ADSL and your circuit number will change (Tel number)

Seriously? 100% sure about that? Not worth it, if that's the case.

I have the same problem, recently moved residence from Sunward Park to Van Dyk Park (like 2 KM from each other).. Where's the Sunward Park exchange gave me a 4MB Telkom decided to put me on the Brakpan exchange which is a 1MB Exchange.. WTF man and the worse thing is its 5 KM away from me where the Sunward Park exhcange is like 2KM away from me MAX!!!

Is there something up with the network? I have been experiencing a sluggish connection since Friday.
Google time outs, have to reload pages twice or more, etc.

Hi MyWorld

Please see our Notice board: http://goo.gl/282K. I have refreshed your account, please allow for a few minutes to pass and test.

I read somewhere on this forum that you should try apply for a second line and have that one with the adsl and try get it to a closer exchange of mini dslam.
