My ping for any international site is >300. Spiking at around 1200.
After getting off the phone with MWEB call centre, sending tracert and ping screenshots, I was told that this is 'normal'.
Please help.

Good Afternoon L3th3, please provide me the pings and tracers to international sites. Also direct message me your mweb account details.

Hi L3th3

My first guess would be congestion at the exchange, thats going on the spike from the 2nd hop.
Have you previously checked for congestion with Telkom?
Drop me a PM with your MWEB account details.

MWEB service is getting just plain unbearable now. I cannot see anything on Youtube, without it buffering for 2-3 times longer than the clip (Don't even think of trying a hi-def clip). Torrents just don't work, now surfing the web is impossible as well. DNS works only after 2-3 tries.
I have had a port recreate done by Telscum, asked MWEB to look into it and no success. MWEB's sage advice of leaving the router off for 30 minutes did nothing, nada.
Strangely my IS account does not suffer these symptoms. I can do anything I want to simultaneously, and the DNS actually works the first time every time!

Maybe it's time to switch? MWEB, catch a wake and resolve the problems!

You have a pm with my account details (Title:MWEB Performance Problems - (Craig1606))

Good MOrning craig1606, I checked your record and you managed to do just over 21 gig yesterday. I also cannot see any break in your router connection since the 18th of May.

Please provide me tracers to local and international sites. (please ensure there is no traffic running in the back ground when providing me this information).

Thanks for the quick reply. I am grateful you are looking into it.
How did you check my details? I have not sent you my mweb username yet! Do you have ESP as well?

Yeah that's 24hours full on downloading at 100 mb/s. Check December / January usage, when you guys sent me a warning :-). I was pumping 30GB a day, and that was partial usage in a day.

I am stuck in a situation where the usual stuff I download is taking 4 times as long. What used to download in 6 hours is not taking 24hours. Here where the prob is along with no youtube / and dns resolution timing out all the time.

Tell me what IP's / sites to tracert and I will kill everything else and send you you during the course of the day.

I have checked your usage for the past few months. The details you now provided me via inbox message we did receive from you previously.

You received a warning for excessive usage, as this was not the amount of data you shoulve been moving on your shaped product. 21gig is very goog performance and we have extensively discussed download performance here.

The thing we always say to p2p users on these shaped products is that if you speed watch your torrents there are going to be times when you will be frustrated, but if you look at how much you are able to achieve in p2p traffic over the course of the month and do the math I'm confident that you will find that you are getting very good bang for your buck, even though there will be times when the torrents slow down.

The tracers are for your browsing issues, you can trace to mweb.co.za and bbc.co.uk

Good Afternoon, I have recreated your port.
Thanks working again!!

MWEB Guy

This cant continue that i have to contact MWEB everyday to recreate the port, it must be fixed, otherwise you guys must supply us with other alternatives in the meantime e.g 3G, and honestly we use a lot of gigs, so i dont know what to do!!!
3 months was around R3000 of wastage and now the on and off thing , so basically we only getting half a month of active internet , theres another R450 a month

Please fix, we are tired of this :(

You should use the other mail system. (the non-beta). I have the same problem.
Just search in this thread for mcxbeta or whatever it's called and you'll find the proper url.
