Good Morning Mweb Guy

Hi Kitty09,

What I can suggest is maybe trying with another router to see if the same problem happens. If it doesn't, then it could be the router that is giving you the problem.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

I don't have a spare router :( Hey the router's Internet LED went red 20 minutes ago. It lasted about 10 minutes. I couldn't browse the net at that time. The weird part is that our telephone line is not dead when the LED was red.

Is it time to get a new router? I hope not because I don't want to wait until next month to get a new router :(

Hi Kitty09,

If there is a shop in your area where you can take the router to test it, I would suggest taking it there, just to make sure it isn't the router.

Kind regards,

Hi 3GisDaMan,

Please advise if this is with or without the proxy and what has the IT guy said after looking into it?

Regards,

MWEB Guy

With all respect, do you just reply to postings by asking questions so that you put the ball back in our court?

There is no proxy.
"The IT guys" are the support guys for this website. I queried it with them first, to make sure their website is up and running. And yes, it is up and running. I can access it through a proxy service AS A TEST. It works through a proxy service.

IT DOESN'T WORK THROUGH MWEB. Normal 4Meg Uncapped ADSL. No proxy.

Hi 3GisDaMan,

I have logged a technical specialist call back for this evening between 19h30 & 20h00.

Please advise if this is a convenient time?

Hi rpdblu,

It is a Telkom outage, so as soon as they resolve it we will update our customer's via the Network status page.

I can setup an sms notification to your cell, that will notify you once resolved.

MWEB Guy

I've had ongoing issues with MWEB. They keep passing me around just cause they took my ADSL line without my permission.
Sorry let me start over, Last year i bought a flat and decided to get ADSL data only with MWEB to see how it is and it was great so i thought that i will go all inclusive with them. I called sales and was told that i had to complete a MWEB Migration Application and was explained the process so i told them that I'll look it over and if i like the idea I'll send through the paperwork.

By this time it was 13/07/2010 and my wife and me were moving to a new property in November and renting this one out. So needless to say i didn't complete the form cause it's only a few months and the pro-rata charges would not make it worth it.
But weirdly enough the 14/07/2010 i recieve a mail with subject MWEB ADSL All Inclusive - Documentation Received.....weird seeing that didn't send anything. And the next day i got a Welcome to Mweb mail with my username and details on.

I got a little lost in work and didn't call m-web immediately and by the end of the month i checked my bill but i wasn't being charged for adsl by mweb so i was happy to think that the mails i recieved was just a error. I was wrong by the end of the year when i moved i canceled mweb and asked them to reconnect me at my new property. Everything was done there and then i kept my Username and got my new number from Telkom. Completed the MWEB Migration Application and my new line was migrated. But now when i contact Telkom and request to cancel the old line cause I'm selling the property they say that MWEB has the line and when speaking to MWEB they claim they can't find the number because it's not linked to my username anymore.

Yet i still have those mails from MWEB saying there taking over my line last year so im inclined to believe telkom in this has anyone else had this problem? I'm desperate here and i need the line canceled.
