Thanks Mweb guy, Telkom will be at my house monday morning... Then that little problem should be sorted out

Past few days has been realy slow on Streaming and some general http, International Gaming seems a bit slower than my usual 230 ping its now 550-700 on WoW. Local gaming is not happening :P not with 800+ ping. Ill give it a few more days before I contact Helcom

These are my current speed tests for local.

A few random servers give me an error when i try run Ping test says: *could not connect to Server*

4mb line.

Please advise if you are still experiencing the issue you mentioned. Also, please PM me your MWEB account details in order for me to look into this further.

OK, I don't know if the MWEB techs did something. If they did - keep my line like this please.
Youtube streaming back to normal, and even my anime downloads are coming in at decent speeds

Appreciated (if you did do something that is)

Your line is syncing at 2Mb, not 100% sure why that would be. I would advise contacting Telkom and have them sunc your line at 4Mb. Also, ask them what was the reason they dropped it to 2Mb.

My line can't handle 4mb because of the noise and attenuation. Probably due to the fact that Telkom don't want to replace the 30 year old phone lines that are in my area.

Edit: Right now my stats are like so
Us Rate (Kbps) 512
Ds Rate (Kbps) 2048
US Margin 14
DS Margin 7
Trained Modulation ADSL_G.dmt
LOS Errors 1
DS Line Attenuation 49
US Line Attenuation 29

Also, I only seem to be getting erratic speeds with my NNTP traffic. Downloading a video off of Youtube worked fine at 200KB/s, but my NNTP downloads look like this atm

Today it seems a bit better i will keep an eye on it for the next week.

From the image you provided, the max speed you are getting is 256KB/s. With the line being erratic, speeds will fluctuate as well. Please monitor and keep me informed.

The thing is that everything was fine up until the other day then the troubles started with only my Mweb account. My afrihost is fine. Even other downloads on my Mweb is fine, it's just NNTP traffic on Mweb only.

Please be aware that the 4Mb account with us is shaped. Speeds are flucutating between 1MB and 2MB in accordance with the line limitations. Please take cognisance of the fact that you will suffer from a degraded service due to the line conditions. Is the afrihost a capped account?
 
Yes I am aware that it is shaped. But my speeds have been fine up until the other day. Also, if it is being shaped, then surely the speeds would not be all over the place like they are?

YOur fluctuating speeds are being caused by your line limitations dasco144.

Telkom recreated my port on the DSLAM, would you mind to check if it is better than it was ?
