MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Uncapped account + Line

Hi.

I just canceled my other ISP and going to move to MWEB.
I'm looking at getting uncapped again as this whole getting capped and doing topups sucks.

I see the 384k uncapped account is R229pm and the 1mb uncapped account is R299+BF3.
This makes me want to get 1mb uncapped.

But when you take the line rental into consideration the price jumps from R349pm for 384k to R588pm for 1mb.

Why do we get overcharged so much for that piece of Copper that Telkom installed 40 years ago and which was paid off 1 year later.

This is just BS.

This might because there is a problem with SEACOM.

The all-inclusive package from MWEB is R349, which includes the ADSL rental. The (compulsory) voice line rental will be another ~R150 on top of that -- so around R500 total. But you pay the R349 to MWEB.
 
Any updates on the Seacom & Sat-3 cables, international is still terribly slow.
 
Still cant seem to connect to FTP sites... gggrrrrr... DAMN YOU SEACOM!!!!

Edit: for any people struggling to download MF FS MU Links via downloading managers, I find Jdownloader gives me full downloading speeds. Just a suggestion for those who didnt know.

mweb never seize to amaze me... i've cancelled my account and asked that it been downgraded. but on the 24th of octber 2011, i've decided i dont want to cancel any longer. so i've informed mweb ops, sales and billing of my decision. I've been away for the day, and big was my surprise when i open my email and discover emails from mweb that i've incurred out of bundle usage of R193-00 for exceeding my cap.

pls mweb guy help pls!

Wow - only 2 days?

I've been stuck at that now since the 16th of last month already....

Didnt mweb guy said that ship was fixing SAT3 cable yday? 24h past still no fix? or what is going on? mweb system notice hasn't been updated for 2 days almost. i mean what is happening?

Fixing undersea cables is not a 24-hour job. It takes 24 hours+ just for the ship to get to the site I guess.
 
Sheesh! really really poor speedtest results at the moment - ranging from 0.44 to 1.8 on a 4 meg line. @MWeb guy, is this normal at the moment or do I need to call Telkom to test the line?

and that is speedtesting from Pinelands to Newlands and Cape Town!
