Hi copacetic,
I had a look into your account and found more than 6 dropped connections. Have you been rebooting the router?
Is your DSL cable plugged directly into Telkom jack or into filter first?
FYI: http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/NetworkStatusNotices.aspx
How many PC's are connected to the router and did you do the speedtest with background DL running?
Regards,
MWEB Guy
Rebooted the router twice, perhaps 3 times, I think (account was upgraded from 384 this afternoon).
The speedtests were done with only one computer active, and no downloads were taking place (as this would negate the point of a speedtest, obviously).
DSL cable is plugged straight in, phone attached to filter.
You are a man who goes on obvious and I'm a guy, who does not assUme.![]()

Don't see anything in the network issues that would suggest anything affecting me?
Hi copacetic,
Please do a ping and tracert to a local site.
Do you perhaps have an alternative account you can test with?

MWEB Guy

Hi copacetic,
There is an obvious difference in the tracert, the MWEB account tests are better. The speedtest are faster on the Afrihost
Ask Telkom to recreate your port and to do tests on the line.
Regards,
MWEB Guy
The MWEB account tests are better?![]()
So why am I getting absolutely terrible speeds on MWEB, but full speeds on the Afrihost account? How can there be anything wrong with my line if the non-MWEB account is working absolutely perfectly?![]()
Hi Anthro,
Is this with a MWEB account or a different ISP?
Regards,
MWEB Guy
U got to be ****ting me right ?
This is the MWEB thread is it not ? :erm:

I'll log a technical specialist callback for tomorrow. What time will be convenient for you?
Regards,
MWEB Guy
Yes, I understand the trace route is 'better' with MWEB, but that is utterly irrelevant to me, considering MWEB is half speed, and the Afrihost account is working PERFECTLY.
Further, I'm still curious how this could be a line issue, considering changing ISPs on the same line produces vastly different results.![]()
Anyway, I'll PM you a number and a time, thanks.
*edit*
Just for clarity:
The trace route might be 'better', but so what? Look at the speeds I'm getting...
Hi,
Please provide actual DL speed screenshots of the two accounts, so that I can add it to the techspec callback.
Regards,
MWEB Guy

Hi Anthro,
I checked your account and it shows not active. We registered your MyBB name to the [email protected] email address.
