I'm getting disconnections from my home and business connection. also my browsing feels a bit slow

Morning nelis,

Please advise if this is still ongoing?

MWEB Guy

my line is fine now. my speedtest was fine and I could play cod4 no problem. but my teamspeak that we ordered from gameservers was intermittent and Battlefield 3 on any server was a bit slow and did time out

I have had occasion to need to download quite a hefty collection of linux distributions via the torrent protocol over the last couple weeks.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say that the MWEB network has been absolutely stellar in this regard, and the speeds that I have been getting, even during business hours, have been most excellent.

As well, I've had some serious connectivity issues over the last couple of weeks, and while it turned out to be a Telkom issue, MWEB did all they could to help in pinpointing the issue.

Keep up whatever you guys are doing, I am happy to recommend your service to anyone, which I regularly do.

Cheers!

Have to say, I'm also quite stunned with Mweb's performance so far. I don't torrent or use news servers so I can't say much for that. But browsing, Skype, Steam and online gaming has been flawless so far.

So I've decided to make the switch.

Only criticism is with the agony involved in streaming HD YouTube... But, it's a sacrifice I'm happy to make if everything else keeps going as it has been.

Just want to say thanks to mweb. Lately any dsl problems I have had are because Telkom is rubbish, but the service I have received from mweb has been great. This product is really good. Thanks Mweb :)

Awwww :) ... Thanks F1ve_Claw.... ;)

I've always been very pleased with MWEBs performance..

Even when there are major network issues beyond their control, their network performs better than I can expect.

Daytime Torrent speeds are more than acceptable, connection to the news server is decent enough, browsing is always good...

Well, put it this way, Cybersmart can't keep up with them. I am very glad I switched to MWEB. I had a fantastic weekend of being able to do what I need to do without the crap Cybersmart used to give me

Agh ****, and here I was wasting time with all these damned 'torrents'.

The advantage of the torrents though is that it is very forgiving of intermittent problems and many ftp servers (don't know about the one above) don't support resuming, etc. Had that situation last week with a large patch that would fail about halfway through due to network congestion - fortunately there was a torrent link as well - which worked brilliantly.

PS: Although performance has been "up and down" over the last week, everything was flying over the weekend.

Loving the positivity this morning :)... Definately Feeling the Love ;)

Ok I am going on the mweb trial today. Hopefully by the end of the week I can sign up for mweb uncapped and cancel my WA "uncapped".

Heh... Welcome to the club.

I signed up today :)

No regrets yet.

Still pushing for HD YouTube to be sorted out though.

I have to add that I have had a great experience since signing up for the 4MB uncapped offering at R899 pm. I think this is actually an overkill on my side as I would most probably on average about 20 -25 GB per month. So MWEB you score from my side hands down.
What I would like to see is a little innovation with the ADSL IP Connection price reduction from Telkom.
Maybe something like opening my connection to 10mbs (Telkom 10mbs is now available in my area) at the the same price of R899.
If that is too risky, maybe impose speed limiting after 40GB usage to 4mbs
And a nice reduction on your capped services. Come on guys - you have been pioneers.
Your service rocks for me!

I signed up last week, started using it late Saturday night. After being on WA uncapped, this is an absolute pleasure. I could kick myself for not going with mweb directly.

The signup is pretty simple, although it is irritating that I have to create an "@mweb.co.za" email address - I have ZERO intention of EVER using it. Why can't I use my own email address?

Other than that minor annoyance, I'm very happy.

What irritated me is the need for proof of residence, ID and printing out paperwork to fill in, then scanning it back in and sending it back. What is this? The middle ages? *shudder*

Not sure what you had to print out and fill in?

All I did was take a photo of my ID and utility bill with Cam Scanner (droid), and upload the pdfs. Well, I uploaded my id shot during sign up, but the utility bill I sent later via email.
