MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Well I have decided to try out MWEb and have a 7 day 1 meg uncapped trial account. MWebguy arranged for a consultant to phone me, and she was superb - within minutes i had all the relevant information and her direct number for follow up. I was amazed at this - no queuing, etc. So impressed

Come home and get the account up and running. Then I want to set up SABnzbd so as to download from the MWeb news server. 5 people later and it is ready to go :( Some of the people in support did not even know what is a news server; one person told me I could "view the news on it but not download files"; I was sent from department and person to person. Anyway I eventually did get a specialist who could help me. I have to say that whilst WA might have frustrations for me, thier support guys all know about their news server!!

Well, let's see how things go
 
fulton i recommend using news.mweb.co.za and a free xsusenet account, working good for me, have been downloading 100kbs non stop.

It still doesn't work :( I'm going to port forward the following ports - 6881-6999 and restart the router before downloading D3 beta again.
 
Hi,

Don't know if I am being impatient here, but how long does it take on average from applying for the inclusive adsl package to getting a notification that your order is being processed and when you can it expect it to be finalised? I applied on Wednesday and nothing is happening. Called twice today and although the people on the other end are very friendly, I keeping getting the "your documents are being uploaded" answer. Sorry if I am impatient, just thought I will be kept informed on my order status.

Also experiencing somewhat erratic streaming on Youtube - standard quality, not HD even.

I have cancelled downloading D3 beta because it was so slow -> 20-25kBps. I have tried everything.

It's not the first time that my p2p download speed is terrible. It's been like this since 2 months ago. I thought it was not a big deal since I rarely download stuff via torrent.

Is it possible to update my MWEB-locked router's firmware to the latest one? If so, I would like to request to have my router unlocked if you think that it might improve the p2p performance (Forgive my ignorance). I'm desperate :(

is it billion 7401vgp? i tried everything it does not unlock, had mweb guy and billion rep on mybb help me, some reason it does not unlock :(
 
line speed is not what it should be 4mb line , never been this slow

just dont know lol , you can telnet and and enable dail up mode which does work, but router support more modes if it is unlocked.

More modes? Dude, I have to admit that I don't know what I'm talking about when I say that I want to unlock my router. I think that it might make my router more reliable when it's unlocked. The point is that I'm a noob when comes to networking stuff. I'm more of a hardcore programmer ;) I need to ask my dad to get a bigger better router someday.
