Why waste peoples time with nonsense like this. These
guys work under pressure and you in effect caused a delay where someone else with a real problem was not helped.
 
This is really starting to bug me. Torrents going at under 20kb/s(with over 1000 seeders) on a 4meg line.

This isn't just priority shaping its almost a complete shut down of torrents. Are mweb adopting the same thing as the UK in blocking torrents so that people wont use them anymore?

Ive never seen such rubbish speeds from mweb before.

No, emails go out using test ADSL account from IS, but not on M-Web. It's within the M-Web domain...

My torrents have been pretty dead for the last 2 days...nothing going above 30kb/s and today nothing above 10kb/s. Is there a specific reason for this?

It has been slow lately. Not all the time though. Mostly Mondays and Tuesdays in the evening, and business hours any day. Then fine on weekends again.
Overall I'm still getting quite a bit of data in a week; ~50kbps avg. bcos office hours sometimes drops to 1or2kbps.

Must be all the new business from the cheap 1Mbps uncapped... :p
 
Hi Mweb guy

I've also been receiving extremely poor download speeds on torrents, nzb, youtube and ftp.

Pings and line stats are fine my side, syncing at 4mb but i can never get more than 2.8mb on speedtests
 
I have been using Mweb's 7 day 4mb trial now and speeds seem to be pretty poor.

Is this because it is a trial account or not, otherwise I'm thinking openweb gold (However I will be changing down to 1mb as soon as telkom wake up and drop my line speed, tried 3 times at two different stores and on the phone :( )

Nope this past week mweb speeds have been really crappy. Not usually like this at all.
 
I commented recently about slow torrent speeds downing an ISO, but I've spent this evening doing general surfing *salute* and it's been fast and responsive the whole time, even with an HTTP download running in the background on a 384kbps line.
 
Yeah. Unfortunately since last week around Tuesday, torrents have been useless. During the day I'm lucky if I get 40kbs and during the day I'm lucky if I get 10kbs on a 1mbs line. Browsing, online play, direct downloads and everything else I normally use is running normally. Its just the torrents that are still messed up. The only other thing that I've noticed is that steaming is also a bit slower but not by as much as torrents.

Remember this happening last year as well around October or November. Last time Mweb got some kind of upgrade on their network and since then the torrents ran perfectly. Until now anyway. Here's hoping that Mweb will get another upgrade like that soon, cause it sucks waking up and seeing that your torrent still hasn't finished and is downloading at 0.1kbs

Yeah the network really has been up to shiznit for the past week or so. Youtube buffering all the time which was never the case. Torrents going really slow etc.

Send me your MWEB details so that I can investigate why you are getting slow speeds.
 
Is it just me or wont apps update on android when connected to mweb?? I can update and download when using cellc 3g, but soon as I connect to wifi with mweb it keeps saying error downloading and sometimes it just says connection time out!

Is it prehaps related to the gmail problem??

It might just be you. Updated 5 apps not 20 minutes ago... :p

PS - MWEB Guy, Youtube still up **** creek this side as well... doesn't seem like 're-authoring' the account has much effect.
