Vorador are you running anything in the background? Please provide me a screenshot of the speed test results and netstat results.

It's probably closer to 9PM until the next morning 8AM that I used to get very close to full line speed, which was very nice. I've managed to get 100kB/s max around 11PM last night, but not for very long.

Something strange is happening with the P2P shaping, my shaping has never been this severe in day time and I have always had at least 360kB/s, most of the time more than 400kB/s later in the evening.

EDIT: 360kB/s in the night time when it is slower is what I used to get. 240kB/s is the day time is what I used to get.
I now max out out at 100kB/s briefly near midnight.

I see from Will's post that you're getting extra bandwidth Friday, maybe it will improve then?

Prof, your p2p is not supposed to operate as it did on a shaped account. You were obtaining close to line speeds 24hours a day; that sounds like an unshaped experience.

Please provide me your MWEB account details via direct messaging, to enable me to look at your monthly usage. This will give me an indication if you are getting value for money over a 30day period.

Thanks for the information Vorador; your netstat results show active traffic on your network... if you do a speed test with active traffic on your network (in the back ground), it will impact on your speed test results. For an accurate reading, please ensure that there is no traffic running while you do one.

You still have active traffic while you are doing your speed test...

If you are referring to download speeds, you need to understand that your speeds will fluctuate from day to day.

The thing I always say to p2p users on these shaped products, is that if you speed watch your torrents there are going to be times when you will be frustrated. HOwever if you look at how much you are able to achieve in p2p traffic over the course of the month and do the math. I'm confident that you will find that you are getting very good bang for your buck, even though there will be times when the torrents slow down.

Mweb Guy help!!

My speeds have been appalling for the past three days.

Here's my latest speedtest result:
Download Speed: 266 kbps (33.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 419 kbps (52.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: -1 ms

This is on a 1mb uncapped account.

Vorador, if you have active traffic on your line while doing a speed test; it will compromise your speed test results.

So I do I stop the active traffic

YOu must stop all traffic completely; even pausing your downlaods will compramise the reading. Only the speedtest must be running, nothing else.

Your line readings are surely improving; however what have you paused? The netstat still show's that you have traffic waiting (traffic paused)

No Restarted my pc , Nothing else is running in background. And that is Max speed I'm getting

Hi, during the day I was getting about half of the line speed, and during the night I was getting close to full line speed, isn't that normal shaping? According to your ADSL usage feature in my account and a quick calculator sum, I am averaging 167.95GB per month for the last 12 months data sent and received total, which is good value for money.

Also, I've only used 76.24GB in May 2012.

Thats correct Prof, the varying speeds are in accordance with our shaped product...
