MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Thing is that its not just games. ALL international traffic has increased latency. Just like froot said.

Can I enable monitoring on your account to provide me a clear picture?

There are no outages pertaining to our international links...

A guy from Mweb just called me, we talked about the "problems" that I'm experiencing and suggested I take it up with the games master.

As with the other guys, let me reiterate that the problem of higher-latency is not isolated to gaming. We just notice it because we are gaming.

What we experience:
before 5pm: sub200ms ping to EU
after 5pm: 260-300ms ping to EU. This has in my experience included in frame drops ingame, probably due to some lost packets along the way.
The pings above are seen as above in both gaming and cmd prompt -> ping.

General usability has taken a nosedive here as well. Cannot even open up a remote desktop connection over openvpn (while slow, it was fine about an hour ago).

Good Morning, please provide me your MWEB account details.

Good Morning froot, we cannot pick up anything on our network. We will have to troubleshoot this on a case by case basis.

I have made a change on your account, please let me know if this improves your experience.

Hi Mweb Guy

Im considering moving to Afrihost 10mbps uncapped package mostly due to the price and the great feedback people have been giving, just want to know what is the cancellation process with mweb ?

Also I would like to signup for the mweb webtalk product and will it still work over the Afrihost line ?

Also does mweb have any plans to give a similar package as the afrihost bundles ? if yes then Ill stay.

Yes if it helps sort out the issue then go ahead and monitor all you want. :)

Good Afternoon nerf, We are currently reassessing our ADSL product range in lieu of the planned Telkom line speed changes and we’ll let you know well ahead of the time if we plan to make any changes.

You may email [email protected] from your MWEB email address requesting cancellation. Please be aware that you will have to serve the 1 calender month notice period (this does not pertain to extended contracted clients).

So it was just after 5pm that the ping jumped up and just after 3am that it dropped again. If the other guys are being 'monitored', please add me to the list because I am tired of dealing with it.

Afternoon, our shaping is not time based. Therefore the time specific hike in latency is not being caused by our network.

Please provide me tracers via inbox message to international sites; before and after 5pm.

Mweb.

Just some feedback on my uncapped 1mbps package... All is good!! :) Happy customer for 3 months now. No issues what-so-ever (Besides telkom working on my exchange of course). Keep up the good work. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a true uncapped solution to seriously consider mweb.

That is all! :)
Really? you lucky! Been with mweb since the beginning of the month:

Peeps, just a quick question.
Haven't done any research so please don't shoot if this is an obvious question.
If I wanna bite the bullet and try Mweb uncapped tomorrow (been with Telkom Capped forever) how will I get billed for June?
Do they invoice Pro-Rata thus +-8 days or would I get billed for the full month?.

Thanks all!

Hi Krypt0n1te.

You will be billed on a pro rata basis.

Still no official price form MWEB on a 2Mb uncapped offering? I wonder why its so difficult to come up with pricing.

Can we expect an announcement soon? I'm 8 days away from giving notice and moving to another ISP for a R200+ saving a month. And I'm not moving back if you do decide to drop prices as I'm sure it will then be a negligible saving if any.
