We take regular flying leaps to keep us fit copacetic, but thanks all the same for the solid advice

Gent's unfortunately rules is rules and while we do take measures to control p2p traffic, ultimately the responsibility is on you, the customer, to behave like a good citizen and comply with the acceptable usage policy that you agreed to when you signed up for the product.

I've voiced my displeasure at the 'no downloading 24/7 clause', and should it ever become an issue, well, we'd have to cross that bridge when and if we get to it.

There are a couple of people on the network here, and I do not remotely feel it is my responsibility to police what other users might or might not be downloading, providing they are not purposefully bypassing the shaping, which is perfectly reasonable.

The SAT3 outage is not affecting our customers as we have sufficient capacity on SEACOM and failovers has kicked in as expected.

Just a query and apologies if it is a dumb question as I am not too technologically minded - all my downloading is from news servers. This way - am I correct - I am not bypassing any shaping etc and this is the best way to download.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with the good speeds that I have when I DL, regardless of time. Kudos to MWeb for sure

I am again getting poor performance, I mentioned it to you last time and you checked the account and did something, after that I was back to 3.4mb on speedtests etc..

However now I am at 2.2mb again and the connections is not performing as it should, are you sure mweb is not affected by the outage on the SAT3 stuff, as my connection seems to not be doing well at the moment, please get back to me and let me know of alternate things we can try to resolve this.

PS: Usual pings to international sites was around 210ms and is now 260ms
Usual international gaming was also around 210ms and is now peaking at 300-340ms

There is no problem downloading that way.

If you do bypass our shaping protocols, the account will be flagged and our abuse team will notify you.

If you are referring to torrents, we shape torrents.
