MWEB Uncapped ADSL - Official Q & A

It's damned expensive, but our Internet Addict (uncapped/unshaped) account is performing as advertised, so the wife and teenager are happy. Rapidshare always at full line speed (400KB+) even right now with the intl problem.
Just wondering if MWEB will throttle us to 4meg speeds if our lines are upgraded to 8+meg?

HAHAHA they cant even handle real 4MB NOW, what makes u think 8MB is even really gonna be possible?

But the OP clearly mentions above that the addict account is delivering 4mbps speeds (400KB+).

I'd be surprised if MWeb makes all 4MB accounts 8BM accounts for the same price when 8MB line is upgraded.

MWEB, I am wondering, why the news server is cutting off every few seconds? I am getting allright speeds, when downloading, but the actual download stops sometimes halfway through.

Here is a picture of my download activity, is this normal, or is there an issue?

@MWeb - why not just admit to shafting the uncapped clients, because that is what you are doing.

Its pretty clear mweb cannot handle the load of the uncapped subscribers, they invent this high downloader package, and then manifest all these hardware faults to shape and throttle the hell out of peer traffic on the normal uncapped accounts.

Ive been experiencing odd behavior, in daytime DC++ wont connect, at around 20:00 it connects, which means someone somewhere has stopped dynamic shaping without telling us hmmmm? And at this time allso news server takes priority, but like with Mike43110 it spikes from 0-15 to full speed all the time.

There's definitely someone that switches off p2p and switches it on again at certain times.

The crap thing is that gaming counts as non priority even though it uses extremely little bandwidth.

Do you guys recommend me switching to Mweb? I've cancelled my ISP account and i'm planning to jump ship to Mweb. All I need is my HTTP and VoIP traffic to run at my normal 384 line speed, I can deal with the torrents being slow.
