MWEB uncapped speeds since last weekend

Anyone else getting bad speeds since last week about? My downloads constantly downloaded solid 40-41kB/s...but now its jumps from 15-30kB/s...

phoned mweb and they told me network under stress due to all new sign ups...


Any feedback will help me decide if i must go back to axxess or not.

mynz is great n since my line is now 1mb my 512kb uncapped is n=much more stable stable..

Nntp down to 15-30 KB/s, 384k line torrents today shockingly solid 30 KB/s since 17:00 usually not the case.

My MWEB 384k unshaped account is also performing like crap since this morning. I usually average about 37 KB/s but since this morning it's been fluctuating between 7KB/s and 24KB/s and barely goes any higher.

Please let me know if you still experiencing fluctuating speeds. Is it on P2P, torrents or normal HTTP? Also keep in mind that you do have a shaped account and download speeds are not guaranteed as shaping on our network is dynamic.

Please send me your MWEB account details and I'll check a few things for you.

Yet another pitiful day on MWEB...newsservers unconnectable/slow all day, nothing for torrents...nothing much of anything, in fact...

Seems to be based on luck, torrents on wensday from 8 am -12 am 28KB/s-35. same torrent right now 1-5KB/s

This is starting to get ridiculous now, there has to be some kind of problem mweb is not fixing

No problem I think, just over aggressive shaping, My Telkom account connects to the Mweb news server and downloads at 350KB +. My Mweb 4m uncapped only manages 4KB/s with same file and same server. So not a server problem.

My speed has been lousy again since last night around 10pm. Has been like this on and off for about a month now. On a 4mb uncapped shaped account. Here is a speedtest to London:

Starting to become a real inconvenience as I use this connection to do my work as well. Can't even stream youtube at 240p. Getting dia-up speeds sometimes.

I pay R499 pm for an unshaped account and have been doing so for several months and my speeds on P2P, torrents and norml http has generally been very consistent at around 36 - 38 KB/s but since yesterday morning it's been dog slow.

I did log a call with Mweb Technical support last night but I will gladly PM you my account information if you'd like to look into it.
