What is this much talked about MWeb 'upgrade' that's happening and we should all be happy again in the first week of October? I've read something about moving MWeb customers over from SAIX to MWeb and a change of user name from dslmweb to just plain mweb but what will be the end result of all this? I'm not a heavy user, as I stated in previous posts, my max for a month is no more than 15Gb, so will MWeb clients like myself see any sort of improvement in download speeds on p2p in the evenings? I'd really like an answer from someone at MWeb on this.

Why then is my friend down the road getting 420kb/s and I'm getting maximum 50kb/s?
This has only been like this the last 2 days or so.

Coz they've limited that connection. You're sharing a small amount of bandwidth between all of you for that type of download.

Wow, wonder what'd I'd expect on a 384 line then

You know the little infinity sign that appears on torrents for estimated complettion time? ...
That's what you'll see during the day, sadly.

A very poor weekend with MWeb... I dont think my p2p downloaded exceed 38k the entire weekend on a 4 Meg line.. I only had a 18 Gig download to complete this weekend and its still not finished. My line can nornally do 40 gig over a weekend..

I cant believe this heavy shaping is linked to the IPC upgrade. were there issues this weekend????????

YOU! Bandwidth hog! 40GB over a weekend? :( Besides that, if i was on a 4mb line, and paying for a 4mb a/c (Which i presume is expensive) i would throw ALL my toys out the cot if i got bad speeds even for 1 day.

Damn you 384k line DAMN YOU!!!
When is telkom upgrading lines anyway?

Speeds have been erratic, not to sure about 4mb users though. i'm not in that league.

Mine went from flying (430 + ) to between 0 and 20 this morning.

Hopefully they are sorting something out and the great service from them will be back soon.

I've had enough of this with MWeb, I gave my calander month's notice in today. I know better speeds are possible and MWeb have made no attempt to reassure their many complaining customers on these forums that this is just a temp thing and will improve come October. I'm not prepared to pay for a sub standard service, which is essentially what their uncapped offering has become.

My international access seems to have gone down. Before that surprisingly my ping was rather low.

dead my side as well... this is quite an average uncapped service. Was super slow over the weekend as well.
