Everything seems pretty fast and the starcraft2 lag has also been resolved. Will keep updated but for 3pm during a week day this is pretty good.

MwebGuy - can you have a look at this as a matter of urgency. This is def a problem. You can't shape NNTP during the day down to 0Kbps.

I have to concur here, pulling files from known file hosts get's your speeds between 150KB->450KB (4Mb Line) but NNTP get's shaped to 0, there is a policy being applied that is not working properly.

mweb just got from bad to worse.stable 300ms ping on mweb BFBC2 servers.

As promised a Mweb feedback

If this was the result of an upgrade please undo it again, I OFFICIALLY NOW GIVE UP. This is really fast becoming an huge broadband joke! I had today a few lags on PSN that were close to between 1-2 minutes. That is just crazy.

Hi Slip,

I tried the www.aerovps.com site on a 384kbps account at 08:00am and it loaded fine. Tried now again and it still loads fine. Will continue during the course of the day and update you.

What type of account do you have?

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

Are you using the isp DNS or google's dns?

Some more feedback, it's a local broadband disaster.

Look at the curve presented here. Thats the point with the Mweb service, the way they shape it creates it own problems, it's never stable in the curve. It's is rather spiked with intermittent good sections. Overall a poor performance.

I'm pinging your own damned website at 350ms. And Google at 300ms.
Switch to Afrihost and its 11ms to Google.
And I can see from here that I'm not the only one.

Shaping is one thing Mweb, but breaking everyones ping is something else.

Looking forward to canceling.

Not cool :(

Im just thinking are these new shaping profiles triing to get the heavy downloaders off???whats the use of having a 4mb line and not getting at least half the speed??? then i could have saved 500 bucks and stayed on 384....Youtube works like a bomb but thats it...

VPS providers with seedboxes are near/on the bottom of the food chain with mweb's shaping for p2p etc,
but still they shouldn't drop the connection completely

Whole day gone and still shyte pings to local game servers ....... frikkin fix it ffs

Things are looking better today for NNTP - at least its not 0Kbps during the day, but why is (cached) NNTP traffic to news.mweb.co.za being shaped. Its local traffic which terminates at mweb, no need to shape this?

Sigh the pings are really dissapointing and all mweb ever has to say is "please send me your MWEB details so that I can investigate." Its just another way 2 delay things and to make up excuses

That is very interesting... www.aerovps.com doesn't load with google DNS for me.

I'm using MWEBs DNS and it wont load either. Does not look like a DNS issue. Name resolves to IP address just fine. You get the same problem when using the IP address 174.138.167.252.

Requoting as an attempt to get clarity on the seemingly ignored NNTP related posts.
