Maybe I should get a new router?

Same here. Also on Mweb 4mb uncapped. Youtube actually has to buffer at 360p with nothing downloading in the background. I used to be able to stream. Those are some fond memories. I have rebooted the router several times, even leaving it off for a while, but the problem still persists. sigh...
My Video streaming is also messed up. It starts off fine, but then after about 5 seconds, it screams to a max of 30KBps. This is on YouTube, Screwattack.com and gametrailers.com. Also have a 4Mbps MWEB Uncapped account.
Is there a particular reason for this MWEB support guys? Did the overall shaping on Streaming become low priority now? Hope that you can give us a clue to what's happening. I don't want to leave MWEB, this is the first time in almost a year that I've had an issue.
PS. I have tried it in 3 different browsers, and tried downloading the videos using RealPlayer, no difference at all.
Mweb again slow.
Please fix your network.
Again HTTP is slow 20kb/s
Youtube cant even stream a 320p movie on a 4mb Line.
Good Morning, please advise if you encountered a problem with streaming this morning or last night (please provide me with a timeframe if possible). Please also let me know if you encounter the problem during the course of the day or if it occurs periodically at any given time.
MWEB Guy and Will, am I correct in saying one of you stated earlier that running Steam downloads from your servers wouldn't be seen as abuse, even if run for large amounts at a time, not 24x7 maybe 10 hours a day, this would be fine right?
Good morning Soul Assassin, our AUP states that you would be in breach if your download usage pattern shows repeated instances of prolonged download sessions at line, or near line speeds which is places an undue burden on our network. It is highly unlikely that you would need to download STEAM updates repeatedly.
Hi Mweb Guy,
HTTP slow for me since the weekend and Youtube started this morning.
Regards
+1What about if you buy a bunch of steam games and download 40+ gig which is pretty realistic to do? Team Fortress 2 which has gone F2P is like 12gig already....
Basically what you are saying is that for the user it is highly unlikely to happen (you are already wrong here) and that when it does the user will get banned?
He also asked if he downloaded for 10 hours via steam if that would be fine which you chose to ignore...I would also like to know the answer to that.
Edit 2: You have not come back to me about the SC2 lag issue after you said that your engineers will look into it.
You do not seem to be very clear on your statements Mweb Guy. Simple yes/no answers would be much better than these evasive statements.
What is uncapped?
The broadband terms capped, uncapped and unlimited have caused heated debates in the past, and to try to clarify these terms ISPA divided broadband services into four categories.
Unrestricted, uncapped Internet access: No cap. Acceptable use policy may only restrict illegal activity, not usage behaviour. May be linked to a specific access speed.

Thanks for the replies so far mweb reps, but yes, i agree, you guys are promoting and helping STEAM alot, but if there is a crazy weekend special and you buy3 or 4 games, average 8-15gb , will we get warnings?
almost seeing double standards here.
I wanted to download something now for the weekend to play at our lan, but its 31gb in total for 3 games, and i dont want to get into trouble :'(
If this is indeed the case, then PLEASE consider posting this on the mweb gaming and mweb adsl site, as this is a big reason why we get uncapped accounts, so that we can make use of STEAM games and downloads, but we dont want to get into trouble

Downloading games from steam is not going to cause you any problems. We look for consistent patterns of behaviour over an extended period of time when enforcing the AUP.
Kind regards,
MWEB Guy
