I think it is partly due to my new router setup. I have a dedicated ADSL router now (D-link DSL-2500U) that is running in bridge mode. The connection is dailed from an upmarket TrendNet TEW-691GR gigabit Wireless 450mbps router. This combo is way more stable than my previous all-in-one wifi/adsl modem devices.

Many times people blame Mweb when the problem is actually with their routers.

I've also combo'd mine.. same adsl router as yours but handling the dialup through my Mikrotik RB750. Very stable and by far easier to configure than any stock dsl modems.

Anyone else crawling - nntp working fine - but local and international http is slow. Even MyBB took 2 mins to load.

Hi Gregmcc

We are not experiencing any browsing related issues currently.
Could you do a trace route and send me the results.

Regards
MWEB Guy

Seems like international went down at 12:30.

Local works fine with me at 100kbs (1mb user) but my international is 7kbs atm

I was going to DL BF3 Beta tonight :(

600 bytes / s here, not even a KB, trying to get http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDCatalyst1110Previewdriver.aspx for BF3....Mweb, I have shut up after you told me that you couldnt do anything about the timeouts. But this you cannot ignore.

Btw, 3 phonecalls from your techies a few weeks back, they were less aware of networking than a 2yo. That is what Mweb does, they ignore the problem. Then when you are ready to give up then seem to get interested in the problem, just to tell you there is nothing they can do and annoying the crap out of you with worthless people phoning, having absolutely no clue what your issue is even. The one guy phoned a day after the other one, had to explain everything again, had no clue what the issue was at the time.

I have learned to live with the fact that Mweb is an ISP very bad for gaming seeing as they are so unstable. Do you guys really want to be known as unstable in the downloading department too?

Btw guys, they will probably take weeks to fix this or even just ignored that this huge drop in international occurred, that is what you get for being loyal customers and choosing Mweb.

I am having the same issues. Very little to no international connectivity

Time outs for international sites for about every 40 seconds for me at the moment...

Good Morning Everyone, it seems as that there was a problem this morning and yesterday evening; I cannot confirm an outage as yet.

Please be aware that everything should have returned to normal, please let me know if your problem persists.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Its back to normal. Mweb's timing was fantastically bad with the most anticipated gaming release of 2011 (BF3 open beta)

my downloads are still defying the laws of gravity baby 450Kb/s all the way ;)
