Seems like the guys in Cape Town are subjected to heavy shaping, nntp going at 10kb as of 19:00pm :( . I doubt it very much that everything is in order since the Seacom outage. Will see how thing progress over the weekend.

seems like guys in cape town are getting the short end of the stick since the seacom outage, my p2p is only running at 50kbs on a 4meg line, used to full speed at this time. Sort it put please mweb.

My astraweb is running around 160kb... Mweb seem to be shaping far more heavier than usual... I dont think they are running at full capacity..

Full shaping until midnight (geting 0kb to astraweb) is a little excessive. I cant believe their network was running at 100% capacity so long.. otherwise how do they survive a business day..

Ok.. now while typing.. went down to 80kb

Good Morning Fader4, please provide me your MWEB email address. Also please advise if the 50kbs you are receiving is for news or torrents?

Finally everything seemed good last night. My Filesonic downloads were at full speed and I didn't have any problems with them stopping or any errors so it all looks fine(cross fingers, toes, arms and legs).

Everything still going well... :D...

downloading and streaming...

COME ON Wales!!!

Anyone know the latest ETA for the Seacom problem to be fixed?

It's now been a week my torrents are DEAD. Over a weeks time my torrents have been able to download 1mb... not fun.

It has been fixed, hasn't it?

Good morning Guys, the network capacity is back at 100%. However we are not routing the traffic as per normal, as the SEACOM link is still being restored.

Qrox are you only having trouble with Torrents speeds?

hi mwebguy, was having a problem earlier with torrent speeds but have changed domains from dslmweb to mweb and speeds are much better now. Torrents and filehosts running at +- 250-300kbs now but were at only about 50kbs on the other domain. Will continue to monitor and will post if i have any problems

Yes. My direct downloads run full speed most of the time but torrents don't even want to start. On odd occasions a torrent would start but only for about 10 seconds and even then the speed would never exceed 5kbs.
Prior to the Seacom fault I could get max download speed (95-104kbs) on torrents.

I also did what Fader4 did, with changing from dlsmweb to mweb but that hasn't helped in my case.

Qrox, our system does not reflect that you have made that change, it still show's you are connecting with @mweb.co.za and the last break in your connection was yesterday at past 7pm.

Ok. I will reset all my settings and on my modem and router and set things up again to see if that helps.
