So you are a massive Afrihost fan. By your comment it seems so. If Mweb has a much higher shaping limit then I'm happy. We will see what Mweb does but until then they are MUCH better than Afrihost.
Yes and i don't think it will be long before some one complains to the ASA cause they are selling it under false advertising.

Really?! I shall reserve my comment for the Afrihost thread(s). Okay, small comment: You're still not getting cut off, so it is still uncapped. However, it would appear that IS is at fault here and the small operations gave a knee jerk reaction. If you want to go round ASA'ing them thats on your time.
I'm not going to complain. Quite frankly I don't care what Afrihost does I'm staying with Mweb. But they advertise it as 4096 no Cap account. They don't mention anywhere that after 60GB usage that the speed is no longer 4096k and will be 1024k. So I just reckon some people might get angry cause it doesn't take a lot of yotube HD to move 30-60GB

Im very happy with mweb so far
one thing i've come to wonder. given how more affordable this uncapped is. if you have a lot more users (say compared to the axxess express+ accounts), then is it not possible that in terms of load peak hours are actually past say 6-7pm? maybe which is why internationally, the FUPs always start pretty late in the evening. and hence why we the gates are opened post 10pm?

I think the one lacking intelligence in regards to the afrihost offering is you, i find it very odd they make no mention of the 30gb limit on their website as mentioned, just another way they are deceiving people. Sad to see you supporting them lance i would never have thought you could not see what was going on. The trouble is you get on your high horse and no amounts of obvious in your face facts will stop you from riding that horse

Straight off their website, unlimited data? Errrm so whats this 30gb limit about? Far from unlimited if you ask me.

Definitely let the flood gates open at 11, though my speeds were still decent (albeit less) before that.
I'll probably run the numbers on low priority downloads at some stage. But my initial thoughts are while I was at work I got Lost and V in 720p format (downloads started just after 7h30). Under my Axxess Express+ account I would have only got one of these by the time I got back at 6pm. And then you get 200kB+ from around 6pm to 11pm; full speed after till it seems around 8am the next morning. Priority services perform well even during the shaped times. I think my satisfaction levels with the service are at about 70%.
With respect to the AUP/FUP; I would hope that Mweb doesn't look at how much you download but rather concentrate on slowing/throttling the non-priority traffic at times when traffic on the network is high. That way they can concentrate on quality of network rather tan chase downloaded amounts. Let me add that even on Axxess Express+ 300GB was rare for me on a 4meg line and 150-250GB was my more common range.

It's more the fact that he is completely at a loss to what to do with the speed and 30GB capacity. E-mails and E-news just does not comply using up his 30GB. It's too massive for him so he resorted to download 2Gb IMAX and HD content, eek! so that also did not help, so now he is trying to use it up by posting here on MyBB.
Lance all you have to do is download one decent and proper HD DVD tile (lossless) with good sound (also lossless) and you would blow your 30GB out of the well ..... Afrihost..... water in one foul shot.
First you have to get a HD TV and decent SoundSystem of course, that "laptop" would not do at all.
Then leave us to do what we do with our Capacity and OUR contracts with our ISP's, and rather YOU concentrate what you want to do with your 30GB. Let us not hinder you then please YOU should not hinder us. Now go play and use that full 30GB or you will loose it .................... for real.

I am on a 384 line & Uncapped with SAOL for R499.
I was really looking into moving to mweb but it doesnt seem to work here.
When i queried with SAOL if they are going to offer a 4MEG uncapped service there response was that they are not going to compete with other ISP's because all they are doing in dropping there service rate by offering this and it seems that they have given this thread.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: I have read this post from the beginning and only about a handful of posts are around the actual topic, can people not stick to the thread? Someone like myself is trying to read up about this and I have to read all the other nonsesne people post.

And +1 for SAOL for keeping their service rate up. I'm with them and will never look at another ISP until they cut the BS and give you what they say (just like SAOL does).
