Seven o clock rolled on and my connection slowed down to a crawl again. I've been staring at the "Starting..." label for a normal HTTP download for about 30 seconds now.

Four meg line? Really?

I've had my 384 line for 2 days now & have had decent speeds. Rapidshare comes down at 35 to 45k, torrents prob ave around 20k. I've done over 4GB in the 2 days without trying too hard

OT Question: When my phone line was installed the guy mentioned I needed something to avoid interference on the normal landline from the ADSL line. What is this device called?

Wow, you got a line installed in Westville. Well done. Last I knew Telkom waiting list was 2 years for Westville or something.

erm... i've been patiently waiting for mweb to get sorted out, avoiding the 'die mweb, you suck' ranting in the hope that the upgrade last weekend would solve all our problems. it is now a week later and my torrents are frikking FLYING down at 0KB/s. I get random timeouts on http. http downloads fail randomly (been trying to get my podrunner for the last frikkin hour and a half.) So, seriously mweb, what the f is wrong? its a pity you're the only show in town, or i'd tell you to stick your service where it belongs.

EDIT: oh, and btw, thanks for answering my PM Ops@Mweb... its only been a week and a half. Your sales people are quick on the draw though, i accidentally clicked the upgrade my service button in the vain search for the Cancel button, and they were on me like white on rice.

Great, I thought the upgrades would have sorted out our problems.
1 week down the line and BANG! Back to ****ty internet. 25kb/s download, slow http, time outs on all sides, unplayable latency.

Mweb, just a reminder. I am paying for 4 meg and getting less than 30kb/s.
I hope this is going to be deducted off my bill because I'm paying you more for a service others are paying less for.

Torrents are useless, I don't know what else to say. I am starting to feel like just trolling this page because what the **** else is there to do?

It's called a POTS filter, you can get it at any Telkom shop. Simply plug it in between your phone and the wall socket.

PS: NNTP running at good speeds so far this evening. It seems to help running 10 to 15 Supernews connections and 1 MWEB News Server connection.
