I also saw that TechCentral reported that Cape Town and Durban users weren't affected by this, when they were actually affected by it!

CT was definitely affected. However when the traffic was restored via JINX, DNS issues affected some non-CT users.

Technically routing via JINX explains why MyBB was local earlier, but no longer once intrnation links were restored.

As to WHY this roundabout peering is in place, perhaps MWeb or Hetzner could try explaining...

Durban users definately effected to. Rebooted the PC because I thought it was the network cable. Speeds are a 'little' better though. Emphasis on little!

I'm also wondering that exact same thing. Perhaps they paid for that short period where they peered locally.

Yeah I'm in durban north and connectivity is constantly on and off, took me ages just to be able to post this reply (local and international affected)

Hi Sensou

Please PM me your MWEB account details and I will investigate this on my side.

Regards,
MWEB Operations

Mweb op, my problem still persists after calling telkom twice and both times getting them to do a port recreation.....telkom have now suggested that Mweb call them on my behalf if you guys cannot solve the problem from your side as they maintain there side shows no problems.

Please give me some feedback asap

Thanks

Hey guys! I've been having problems for the past two weeks. My pings on Speed Test have been in the region of 3100ms and higher or just "time outs".

I've spoken to a Telkom Techie and was told it was normal to get such high pings on MWeb Uncapped.

My pings used to range from 35-190ms at the most.

I've reset the router and changed the router. My international has either been down or really slow for the past 2 weeks.

Any advice?
