mweb what are u doing ?

no wonder I can't find any servers cause they are giving me a ping of 800. Don't get to excited. As you never know it might be fixed for an hour or so then everything back to high pings

YouTube is the pits this afternoon.

Son was crying about updates on Star Craft taking its time.

Enough is enough phoning to say cancel the account.

Truly a frigging joke.

Spit ! can only cancel during office hours FFS

Hi Guys,

I have just checked things on my side and I cannot see any reported issues.
Would you mind please dropping me a PM with your details and short summary of your query.

I'd like to try and look into each of your problems.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

it seems like everyone has got some sort of problem - don't think will help if all of us send our issues - also have issues on COD BO, general surfing and dloading - hope it gets sorted soon - will not help to jump ship were else do one go...

Hi Mweb Guy and Will.

I have to apologize for all the problems we complain about but we have to get to the bottom of this as something seems to be very very random. As test I just downloaded another file from the news-server, Alchohol120% and it was flying. Yet the movie file I am downloading was flying like never on Friday but before and after it was just a futile mission. No matter, the problem I think is that some of the downloading files or articles may cause issues, I really do not know. So may I suggest that if it's possible that we can have a known specific test file you host on your news-server so when we have issues then we can test download that specific file and as such test the server. If that file downloads fine then there must be other issues in hand like problems with the news articles we try to download or maybe there are issues with files that are not cached on your server ????

Guys please I know last week wasn't fun for anyone, but it really doesn't help for everyone to assume that they're experiencing the same problem.

We've aknowledged the general unhappiness with news server speeds at the moment and I've requested that the prioritization on news gets relooked at.

Further to this there are some isolated MMO's that seem to be having problems (Age of Conan and STO) and a possible issue with wtfast. All three of these issues are adressable and we should see some progress on them tomorrow.

Other than this however We have done numerous health checks today and over the weekend and we are not picking up any other issues.

I've personally just tested World of Warcraft and Black Ops and youtube video at 720p and all three of these were running fine. If you are experiencing problems, particularly related to latency and poor speedtest results please allow MWEB Guy to assist you and go through the troubleshooting steps.

If there is any issue on the MWEB network other than those mentioned above we will only be able to detect it if we have all of the data from proper troubleshooting so that we can identify common trends and eliminate ADSL line conditions and localized Telkom congestion as a factor.

Thanks
Will

The problem with that is that we really don't have any control over the content which is stored on the server other than basic retention and caching rules its a straight feed from an upstream news provider.

news servers (paid and mweb) are really not doing well. Most of last week we had great speeds, now i am only getting 20KB/s on a 4meg account.

International is very slow now.

Seems to be back. One of those strange bumps in the road again.

Paid News server only running at 20kb/s on 1mb line, but all other browsing is fine, so thank you Mweb.

not sure if it's just cpt, in pta, 4mb mweb uncapped. its perfect at the moment. streaming music 128kb, streaming youtube and browsing int simultaneously. btw i recently changed my primary dns settings to 196.25.255.34 and secondary to 196.25.255.3. it seemed to give my browsing a kick over the weekend. give it a go ;) anything's worth a try these days...
