Thanks for the feedback. So do I sit and watch my router for the rest of the night? Since I am on the all inclusive package from mweb, can I get an account from another ISP for situations like these?

Good question, I don't know. Would suck if you were tied into them.


Give up on the modem. Go read a book. Do you remember books?
 
It would be nice if they could at least update their network status page. btw. What's telkoms guest login?


If its a Telkom failure that's just occured we'd only know about it if they posted a notice or we picked it up via call centre trends. The call centre was quiet when I left the office about an hour ago.
 
Re problems connecting at the moment -- does the router report "Attempting to connect" rather than "xDSL not synchornized"?
 
Posted more on the MWEB - Gaming thread... I am now quite annoyed with our service.... Its all fine and dandy to have you say you can see the server list, but in reality, for those of us who play daily. There is an issue. And its common by reading posts here about it...

IRG I'm not disputing it, but the first rule of troubleshooting is fault replication. If you can't do that you're chasing shadows and I have tested every day since Friday evening without once being able to replicate the faults being described here. That's not to say it's not happening but there must be a common factor between those of you having this problem that we need to establish.
 
Will post us a video please like IRG did or give us you home setup so that we can replicate and check if better

I have a standard issue shaped 4mb account, line syncing at 8mb, using a Billlion 7401VGP in router mode. I'm running Windows 7-64 bit on an i7950 with 6GB Ram. I took fraps now of server browser and gameplay. Let me just get it compressed and find somewhere to post it. I just watched IRG's video now and I'm not disputing it's a mess - I played quite a bit of BlackOps when it came out and I have never once experienced the 'pulled out plug' syndrome.
 
Ok guys I need to actually get out of the office so that I can go and test this for you. IRG I apologize for not replying to your PM last week a lot of general complaints were coming in and I assumed that yours formed part of the crowd. Please understand this is why it's so important to give us all of the facts when you are raising an issue. Nelis you experienced this problem last night while Seacom was down and we assumed that was the reason. The fact that you're able to pick the servers up from another network was not fully explained to me up until now and I will make sure it gets looked at immediately.
Seacom was down?

That's news to me.
 
still at 8kb/s at 9:30pm mweb to mweb news..........this is just soooo "normal"

Im a regular online gamer for Cod: Bo/Crysis 2, Guild Wars, etc

So im yet another person who is having issues with the whole Cod: Bo
I dont know if this has been resolved yet but as with many users here the whole problem started around the 3rd May.

Internet and downloading speeds are as per usual so no complaints there for me. But when I play Cod: Bo i dont seem to find any servers. then sometimes the servers will be picked up after a good amount of time and as stated previously sometimes never. My fellow friends in BO who also use the mweb lines also say they have difficulty finding the servers, whereas the Afrihost/telkom friends of mine dont have any issues.

As for Crysis 2 and Guild Wars I have no problems at all connecting to international/local servers and servers in Crysis 2 appear the second the refreash button is clicked. So isit safe to say this a general issue with Mweb and Cod: Bo? Whereas before the 3rd May my BO worked like a charm.
 
I have no problem with the whole black ops thing if someone is working on it. Why don't MWEB just admit there is a problem and give us detail on where they are looking or where the problem is. No need for will@MWEB to be scared. He keep on refusing to give us proof that it works and coming up with excuses

You are kidding me ? Right ??? Surely you are aware of the steam group "Mweb / Telkom issues" Its not new ?!?! You need to bear with me here, as I am highly annoyed. These problems are not new, just more frequent. But right now we can't play at all... Tell me what tests to run, and I will ...

Completely agree, I really dont mind there being "technical difficulties", I do work part time as a technical assistant so im well aware that these things do/will occur but the think that ticks me off a bit is the fact that im really in the dark with the problem. Right now I cant do my online gaming with my bunch of crazy friends in BO and i dont have a clue as to what is causing the problem. It cant just be me specifically as I previously posted ALL of my mweb friends are having trouble...

Yes and we're actually in the process of assisting the founder of that group with a Telkom line fault.

Also would you mind posting the pingtest you showed me in public? Let's get some comparitive results in from others in the forum so we can see the spread of results.

Will, I am now unable to get past the "fetching stats" portion. Again, my Telkom connection allows me in fine.
^These are just status updates. Hoping info can help. What else can I do to assist as I REALLY would like to get my COD on. I don't play on my Telkom acc as it is capped and technically there should be no need for it's use....

Fair enough, we can expect that once in a while. But those who know our lines are fine (as proof in vid cap of conection with afrihost). We know there to be another issue...

I am unable to see the servers, yet I am running BlackTomato Mod for my server no prob (well not 100% as it times out from time to time - can see that from the log)

I have no problems with the shaping on the account, my torrents work as should be expected (alltho I have not downloaded anything in a while) and HTTP works fine. I Always make sure that any P2P software is completely off when gaming. I only use the built in firewall for Win7 X 64 and MSE. I also make sure that my mail client is closed. My Ping / speed / latency on Pingtest is fine.



How about you give me a 2gig unshaped account to test with for a couple of days ....
