Hi Guys,

Whats the expected usage policy for Mwebs Uncapped 1 MB Acc. I Do an averagee og 130 GB per month and they sent me an email. Whats up with that ???

Whats the point of an uncapped account if i cant downoad my games
 
...geez...never thought a guy with only ONE mbps can get an EMAIL!!!...the line is already slow as it is...
 
Just FOR SAY. What happens if you get that email from mweb? What must you do? I'm a 1st time uncapped user.
 
wondering what they say in that mail... You've been a very bad boy and now you will have slow internet for the next week :D
 
You should migrate to more hospitable climate. Afrihost /openweb / Telkom / etc.
 
bye the way how you can manage to DL 130GB per month with 1MB line anyway. just ignore it as for sure mweb not going to loose their customers.
 
Top downloaders on Afrihost seemingly do just under 300GB a month on 1mbps lines. Its unbelievable that MWeb sends the warning mails to people not even using half of that...
 
This is the crap they reply to me with when I ask exactly that question. Note my reply is in bold and I know ther is no way in hell I will ever get that, but it gives perspective when they bith about 200GB\month:

"Speed limits will be enforced on our premium products for the small percentage of users who exceed acceptable usage thresholds. These thresholds are based on a 30 day rolling window and are recalculated daily." Once again I ask what is deemed as "acceptable". I AM after all paying for unthrottled, uncapped ADSL at 1mb\s speed. So, ACCEPTABLE to me means 30 days in a month x 24 hours in a day x 60 minutes in an hour x 60 seconds in a minute @1mb\s which amounts to 2531.25GB, because by offering 1mb\s uncapped, unthrottled ADSL that is what you in effect is promising me

I canceled my account on Saturday with MWEB via fax (sent it twice) and via e-mail yesterday and look, it's 4:30pm and MWEB have not responded.
Either they have alot of work or are just ignoring it.

good point...but they are "backing" themselfes up with their AUP :sick:

I submitted my cancellation this morning and got a "We confirm receipt of your cancellation request, and your reference number is..." back an hour or so later. I did not cancel because of a warning email or something like that though.

Edit: Just checked the times. I sent it 10:44 and got a confirm receipt back at 11:00

It takes them 15 minutes to sign up a new client, sorting the debit order and everything, it should take them far less to sort the cancellation; maybe they are allocating very few resources and man hours to cancellations and rather spend on new customers. It is still a long way to the end of September, I'd give them a week or so.
