MWEB will improve uncapped ADSL capacity and redundancy

Good news - especially since this will be the first IPC in Cape Town. Locally hosted IPCs is a positive development, and hopefully reduces the overall cost of IPC.

I might not be a fan of MWeb, and so long as I have a choice, I'll never use them. However, for what they've done and helped bring about in ZA in a couple of months, I'll never see them as "just another money-grubbing ISP" again.

Go MWeb!

just hope thats they stop telling people they dowloading 2 much on uncapped accounts

they havent told anyone they download "too much" on their uncapped accounts
the account bannings were related to bypassing their shaping (either using a vpn or using port 80 SSL - the vpn i can understand banning for, its much more deliberate; altho many ppl knowingly used newsdemons port 80 ssl servers to bypass shaping)

+1. It's all there in their AUP. If people don't like it, they shouldn't agree to it and then cry to mommy later that they were cut off.

I've been on MWEB uncapped 384 the last 3 month. very satisfied so far.

Been on MWEb uncapped since the start and I'm very happy overall :) The best is that service is only going to get better judging by this news.

I thought WebAfrica's IPC sits in Newlands at the Teraco data center. Or am I mistaken? I must say I based it solely on a quote from a Q&A with Mr Tagg from http://blog.webafrica.co.za/2009/09/web-africa-network-plans-a-qa-with-the-ceo/:

Most likely we will peer first at CINX (as the action is currently happening in Cape Town). But IPC will terminate in Teraco and connect to the hosting network.
