actually you pay for a contended ADSL service (probably around 20:1) with no guarantees of full line speed at all times. if you want guaranteed b/w, you can fork out for antiquated Diginet I suppose and pay 10 times as much...

Wasn't it you who started a thread on HD video? Two/three HD videos are already 30GB....

Personally - I'm happy with the 720P 1.5GB downloads - but someone else might want the full HD 30GB download of the same thing - and if that's what he wants, its his choice... most of MWEB's uncapped adverts target video download as the reason for going uncapped anyway.

No, not on 384kbps. way to much throttling and shaping, it will drive you insane. 4mb circuit different story.. Excellent product!!! Even with the limitations imposed by the ISP...
 
reading through all the posts here in this thread and others, its evidently clear that we, the general public are being SCHNAAIED!

...and guess what...the SCHNAAIERS are getting away with it! WOW! isnt that amazing! They sell you X service and give you Y service and then quickly create a policy and T&C to protect their interests and not yours and end with " if you don't like it, you can take your a$$ somewhere else! ...we dont care!"

...they know you cannot go somewhere else cos somehow our telscum and these so called "well-priced" are in this together...there is DEFINITELY some money passing hands here and not going via the books?

The biggest problem is though that the smaller ADSL users(384k,512k) are suffering the most cos they getting worst connections - up to 28.8 modem speed connections MAX - and this might be all they can afford at this point and they are being throttled/ shaped/ blocked to hell and gone. The bigger users(1MB and greater) also experience the same as us but not as bad as us.

Maybe we should also do what Malema did and get the ISPs to pay our fines and send us on a "how to use your internet for dummies - 101" course?

this is so sad....
